Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2could finally launch this year, after a long and messy development cycle. This comes three years after its initial planned release in 2020, having first been revealed in 2019.
But now, after years of waiting, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is being listed for release on October 27. If true, this would put it in an already stacked gaming month, up against fierce competition withMarvel’s Spider-Man 2,Assassin’s Creed Mirage,Super Mario Bros. Wonder,Alan Wake 2, and theMetal Gear Solid: Master Collection.

This news comes to us via the Plaion website, shared byResetEra user Angie. Here, we can see that its release date has been updated to Jun 11, 2025, rather than unannounced. This could suggest that we’ll get a release date announcement soon, especially with Gamescom’s Opening Night Live set for tomorrow.
The date is unlikely to be a placeholder, as Plaion typically uses December 31 as a stand-in. It alsorecently updated its Stalker 2 listingsto show a release date of December 1 of this year, so it certainly seems that the distributor is getting ready for a wave of reveals.
This news is quite surprising, given the various hurdles the game has faced in its lengthy development. Almost immediately after its first public delay in 2020,the narrative lead and creative director were removed from the project. The departure of narrative lead Brian Mitsoda was particularly noteworthy, as he had actually worked on the original Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. Senior narrative designer Cara Ellisonleft shortly after.
The biggest hit came in February 2021, when publisher Paradox Interactivebooted the entire development team, Hardsuit Labs, off the game. It’s now being finished by Paradox itself, but understandably, this led to further delays. Unsurprisingly,Paradox considered scrapping the game altogether, and it’s shocking that it hasn’t.
After that, all we heard was thatthe game was in “good hands”, making today’s news that it might launch in October all the more surprising. Of course, we’ll have to see if this amounts to anything, but it’s definitely a very specific release date to use as a placeholder if that’s all it is.
