The AR-style world ofMonster Hunter Nowmanages to blend creatures and concepts from the popular Capcom game series into Niantic’s classic mobile map-walking game formula. You still go around hunting large fantastical beasts and using their resources to forge armor and weapons, of course.

Unlike the console games, however, you’re limited to a certain schedule in Now. Instead of going out whenever you’d like and finding exactly what you need, the world around you has limited resources, all of which only refresh after ticking a certain timer. Here are those timers.

Local Parks Might Refresh Hourly

Public parksare considered special exceptions, refreshing large monsters onthe top of every hour instead of every three.

Public parks can be identified bya section of the map darker than the rest, commonly with several large resource nodes in the area.

This has been inconsistent, however, with many hunters remarking abouttheir local parks not following this rule. It’s unclear how large a public park must be for this rule to qualify.

Small Monster Respawn Times In Monster Hunter Now

Small monsters like Mirnos and Shamos don’t follow the same rules as large monsters. Instead, they will spawn every five minuteson the respective marks.

Small monsters are also location-based, meaningyou can find more by traveling around the mapwithin the five-minute time span.

Biome And Resource Respawn Times In Monster Hunter Now

The remaining crafting material consists of resources. Whether that meansbones, ore, or bugs, these resources are collected fromvarious nodes throughout the mapinstead of being fought. They come in two sizes and are restricted or limited to the biome they spawn in, which also changes. Here are the details.

Small Resource Nodes

Small resources includegeodes, bone piles, and a patch of grass. Tapping on them on the map will give different resources accordingly.

Your Palicowill run around your area, collecting these resourcesautomatically.

These small resources don’t follow a universal time. Instead, they respawn after about 15 minutes. There is a catch, though. They will not respawn until you restart the app. So if you need more basic resources, try closing the app out and opening it back up every so often.

Large Resource Nodes

These arethe equivalent of PokeStops in Pokemon Go. These stationary resource nodes are associated with a real-world location. You can tap them for multiple resources, many of which are rarer or only available from large nodes.

Like Large Monsters, these takethree hours to refresh. However, that timer doesn’t startuntil the time of tapping it. So you will have to wait three hours to tap it again, regardless of the time.

Biomes

Biomes play a large part in what monsters and resources are available. The biomes will also change out to keep things fresh. This happens once a day, every day.The shapes of each biome will always be the same, however.
