Mortal Kombat 1’s final roster has seemingly leaked online two weeks before the game’s final release, revealing that Nitara is the 23rd playable fighter.

After years of waiting, we’re just a few short weeks away from the release of Mortal Kombat 1, with Premium Edition players getting the game even earlier on September 14. With launch so close andMK1 already having been a leaky ship ever since it was first announced, more leaks were bound to happen and that’s precisely the case here as the game’s final roster has seemingly been shared online.

As shared by Twitter user thethiny, it appears that someone has managed to get access to an early copy of Mortal Kombat 1 on the Nintendo Switch, which has in turn let them see the game’s complete launch roster, including the fighter taking the 23rd and final slot. Although many were expecting to see Jade or Sonya Blade as the 23rd character, it seems that the final character is actually Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance’s Nitara instead.

In the screenshot shared by thethiny, you can see Nitara in the bottom right corner of the screen next to Ashrah. Her name isn’t confirmed in the post, but the demon wings and position next to Ashrah make it clear who she is. Although it’s a shame that Jade hasn’t made it in after so many fan requests, Nitara is unarguably a more exciting pick as she hasn’t appeared in a Mortal Kombat game since Armageddon, despite being one of the most popular fighters introduced in the 3D era.

Outside of showing Nitara, the leak also confirms once and for all that Reiko is indeed part of the game’s roster, something that was teased at San Diego Comic-Con and strangely hasn’t been mentioned since. There’s also a 24th character slot that’s greyed out, which some believe to be another unrevealed character, but could also simply be where the DLC fighters begin to appear.

The roster leak also seems to confirm that Havik is this game’s story mode unlock, just like Frost was for Mortal Kombat 11 and Shinnok in Mortal Kombat X. Aside from Shang Tsung, who is a pre-order bonus, Havik is the only character on the roster who has a lock next to his name, implying that he needs to be unlocked. There’s also a greyed-out character slot featured on the select screen, which could possibly be a secret character, or simply where the first DLC fighter is going to go.

Although Nitara being the final character is the most interesting part of the leak, thetiny also shared what appears to be Mortal Kombat 1’s final selection of Kameo Fighters. Sadly, it doesn’t look like there are any surprises to be found here, as all of the fighters that can be seen in the leaked screenshot are ones that have been revealed in the most recent trailers for Mortal Kombat 1.
