Now thatNickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2’s final launch roster has been officially confirmed, fans are sharing their disappointment about the cuts made to the roster.

A few months ago,Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2’s launch roster seemingly leaked thanks to Amazon sharing an image of the game’s key art, which appeared to feature all of the playable fighters. At the time, many fans hoped that it wasn’t actually thefinalversion of the key art, as it implied that at least 11 fighters from the original game had been cut from the roster, including some popular picks like Leonardo, Mikey, Lincoln, and Toph.

Although fans hoped that the final game might include these characters in some form, the most recent fighter reveal, Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender, has been confirmed to be the game’s last, proving the leak was true all along andthat a decent amount of characters aren’t returning for the sequel. Now that the launch roster has been fully revealed, fans are sharing their opinions on it over on the game’s subreddit, and the majority of them don’t seem very happy.

Sadly, while most of the new characters that have been added to the game have been received positively, like the Angry Beavers, El Tigre, and Jimmy Neutron, there are some fighters that aren’t being welcomed quite as openly.Gertie seems to be the biggest point of contention out of the newcomers, as some fans think that her inclusion has been “forced” by Nickelodeon to try and get more meme appeal in the game. Gerald also hasn’t been too positively received, with many pointing out that it’s weird he’s in the game and Arnold himself isn’t.

The lacklustre reaction to some newcomers is only a small part of the backlash, however. The bigger problem that fans have with the roster is how many characters from the original game have been cut, and which ones were picked to be removed. It’s inevitable that some characters are going to be removed between instalments (not every game can be Smash Ultimate), but some of the fighters that have been kicked out are incredibly popular like Mikey, Toph, Leonardo, Hugh, CatDog, and Lincoln Loud.

Even less popular picks like Powdered Toast Man and Oblina have caused some players to be annoyed with the sequel’s roster, as they argue that it removes representation for the series in favour of boosting up ones that already have a lot of characters, like SpongeBob and Avatar. Although there are somefans who are defending the roster and seem positive about most of the playable characters, it does seem like the response has been mostly negative so far.
