Baldur’s Gate 3is a hit, despite many of us expecting its appeal to be a little more limited. There were many reasons to believe this, but it was largely down to the “3” at the end of its title. There are two otherBaldur’s Gategames, released in 1998 and 2000. Despite being hugely influential, they haven’t retained huge player bases, making the success of its follow-up truly impressive. So, unsurprisingly, this has many Baldur’s Gate fans eager forLarianto remake the classics....

Baldur’s Gate 3runs like a dream onPC. Except when it doesn’t. Performance is usually solid thanks to my RTX 2080 Ti, but an ageing CPU and power supply I’ve had in my rig for the better part of a decade means the poor machine has trouble keeping up sometimes. Wizards of the Coast has been slowly testing potential changes toDungeons & Dragonsfor its next revision, due next year.
