Hodari is your go-to guy for all things mining inPalia. You’ll need to visit him to upgrade your pickaxe and get various mining-related recipes, like smelters and bar upgrades. He’s located in Bahari Bay, which is separate from the main village area of the map.

Characters in Palia do walk around, and there is no way to search for a specific character on the map - you just have to hunt for them. Characters also observe a day/night schedule, and sleep in their properties - but you can still talk to them while they’re sleeping.
Hodari’s Location
Hodari can often be found at his home in Bahari Bay. Simply walk over to the gate to the next area, shown on the map above, and then head left towards the large house. You can see what the house looks like on the map below.
If Hodari is wandering around the map, you can click the middle mouse button to place a waypoint on him. This will allow you to follow the navigation bar at the top of the screen to find him.
As you progress your mining skill in Palia, Hodari will send you mail that will be delivered at 6am or 6pm. This is your sign to go and visit him to find out about new recipes, purchase pickaxe upgrades, or get your hands on strong new bars. These cost gold to purchase.
Hodari is one of the first characters you meet in Palia, and he will give you your first pickaxe upon starting the game and visiting your plot for the first time.
You can regularly visit Hodari to chat, earn renown, earn relationship, and give gifts to him. It’s also a good idea to speak to Najuma, who lives with Hodari, to get your Glider and learn about potential gifts for Hodari.
