After heading home following her tense introduction to The Chorus and her trial inStray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, Grace must attempt to explain to her roommate and best friend, Freddie, where she’s been all night. And that’d probably be easier to do without a literal devil creeping into the kitchen behind them.

In this scene, Pan, God of the Wild, arrives at Grace’s Apartment to offer his help in her investigation, but one should always assume a deal with the devil will have a price to pay. In this guide, we walk you through choosing between Freddie and Pan.

This guide contains spoilers for Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical.

Pan Comes To Grace’s Apartment

After Athena dismisses you from her office, you’ll be back on the overworld map with onlyGrace’s Apartmentas an option.

Do notice, though, that you’ll have atimerat the bottom of the screen, telling youwhat day of the investigation you’re onto help keep track of your progress.

Freddie is waitinganxiously when you arrive, and you’ll have a few options for what to tell her when she says your band has been worried. Regardless of what you choose here, your relationship with Freddie is not altered quite yet in this scene, though it will be by the end.

Outside the different flavor text (and anoption to flirt with Freddie, if you’re interested in her as a romantic candidate), what you tell Freddie here is up to you. The important thing as you’re speaking with Freddie, no matter how the conversation goes, is thatPan comes into your apartmentin the background and makes himself at home.

Despite how suddenly and casually he’s arrived,Pan has come to offer his helpin your investigation, but since the well-dressed and (literally) devilish Panis the God of the Wild and all things naughty or untamed,

Freddie is distrustfulfrom the get-go when it comes to your sudden visitor, regardless of the help he may provide. you may ask him as many questions as you’d like, but the fact remains - Freddie doesn’t seem to like him.

This is becausePan’s help has a catch, which he tells you up front:if he helps you in your investigation and accept the info he has for you, you’ll owe him a favor. He doesn’t yet know what that favor will be, but you’ll owe him one when the time comes - without any real hope of saying no.

In the meantime, Pan has a thing or two to tell Grace thatintroduces you to Grace’s powervia, of course, a song.

Song: “I Can Teach You”

This might not be the first song you’re singing in Stray Gods, but it is the first song where you’ll facelasting consequences for the choice you make at the end.

This is the first point where the decisions you’re making in Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical begin to come home to roost, as you may only choose one of the two characters as a helper.

Essentially, bothPan and Freddie make their case on why they should be the one to help Graceas she investigates Calliope’s murder, both by stating their own capabilities and instilling doubt in the other’s to try to convince Freddie to choose them.

The songs(and the takeaways from them, as they’re how you’ll be making major decisions throughout the game)changebased entirely uponhow you choose to have Grace respondat each prompt in the song, a theme that carries throughout the game.

From this point forward, anytime the screen narrows, a song is beginning, and it’s by yoursong decisionsthat you’lldecide how the song - and, therefore, the game - plays out.

Who Sides With You After “I Can Teach You” Depends On Your Decisions

Regardless of who you choose to hear out as you’re singing “I Can Help You” at Grace’s Apartment in Stray Gods, whoever you choose to side with at the end of the song is your right-hand for the remainder of the investigation.

You’ll reliably have a chance to check in with the character you didn’t choose, and they’re both still central to the plot and to helping Grace along in the investigation in some way or another, butthe outcome of the song decides how Freddie and Pan treat you in the game.

It’s important to note thatboth FreddieandPan are romance options, so if you’re trying to end up with one of them, it’s wise to keep on their good side.

Flirting with both doesn’t matter quite yet. Until you see a scene with just you and the other character that features a duet about your feelings for one another, Grace is single.

After the song ends, regardless of who you’ve chosen to side with in the song,Pan gives Grace Calliope’s addressand suggests you head over to check it out. Regardless of if you’ve sided with Pan here,Pan considers this to be a favor, and will tell you outright that he does.

you’re able to’t turn down the address, buttaking Calliope’s address from Pan has implications later onas central story points. Once Grace has the address, the scene ends, and you’re brought back out to the overworld map again.
