Controllers have evolved quite a bit over the years. We’ve come a long way since the rectangularNEScontrollers with two buttons, innovations like theDualSenseandNintendo’s Joy-Con among an array of modern options. Haptic feedback and motion controls are one thing, but a controller needs to look good too. If a controller looking good hinges on it being officially inspired by your favorite games, and one of your favorite games isPikmin, then PDP’s new offering may well be for you.
PDP’s new Pikmin controller is a part of its growing Realmz collection. What sets the Realmz collection apart is what’s on the inside, and no, I’m not talking about the controller’s inner workings. I’m talking about the little red Pikmin that is quite literally trapped inside of it. PDP actually seems to prefer the word captured over trapped which, considering the very nature of Pikmin games, might actually be more fitting.
PDP revealed its Pikmin controller a couple of months ago, and now pre-orders for it are live. You can secure your Realmz Pikmin controller through the Amazon link below, but there’s a downside. They won’t ship until January 2024, so won’t be with you in time for the holidays. On the bright side, you’ll likely be playing so much other stuff over the next couple of months, the arrival of the controller in January will be a welcome reminder that you need to return to yourPikmin 4playthrough.
Pikmin Clover Patch PDP Realmz Controller
PDP’s Realmz controllers are made of clear plastic so the video game character captured inside them is easily visible. The Pikmin Clover Patch controller has a red Pikmin figurine trapped inside the left grip, exclusive to Nintendo Switch.
Pikmin is the second series to receive the Realmz treatment, following inSonic’s very fast footsteps. The world’s most famous hedgehog already has three Realmz controllers, each of which has a different character from Green Hill trapped - sorry, captured - in its left grip. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, and each controller has a different zone from Sonic history as its backdrop.All three of the Sonic controllers are available for pre-orderand can also be found by following the link above, as can PDP’sTransformersoption.
Although the Pikmin controller is only available forNintendo Switch, its rival platforms are hardly short on new options right now.PlayStation’s Spider-Man DualSense stocksells out immediately whenever it pops up, and just yesterdayXbox revealed its new Gold Shadow Special Edition controller.
