Not every video game you play will see you acting as the good guy. Lovable heroes, and doting fathers are all great for their respective games, but sometimes it can be fun to be evil. Anti-heroes, monsters, and all around evildoers also have their spotlight in games from time to time.

Few better antagonists can be found than in horror games. Notably the Slaughter family inThe Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Cannibalistic, sadistic, and just downright bad; this rural family may not be the happiest, but playing as them can be quite an experience. But, which of the family bring the most pride to the Slaughter name?
6Honorable Mention - Grandpa
Grandpa is the only member of the Slaughter family who isn’t a playable character. He was once the best of them, the serial killer to be, but time hasn’t been gentle to him. He still has quite thethirst for bloodthough. By feeding him blood from buckets or survivors he can be woken up.
Once he’s awake, he can work as a sort of radar for the family, picking out survivors whenever they make too much noise nearby. He may not be agile or deadly like he used to be, but spending time making sure Grandpa is taken care of is a solid strategy to keep the family on top round after round.

5The Cook
The Cook is the glue that keeps the Slaughter family together. He has taken up Grandpa’s role and takes it very seriously. He doesn’t look like much, carrying a broken piece of broom and dressed for his day job at a nearby gas station, but he isn’t to be overlooked. His ability is one of the better ones in the game.

His near-supernatural sense of hearing is enough to pick out even the quietest survivor. Keeping close to other family members, pointing out survivors when you sense them, and then ambushing them is a strategy that will work a surprising amount of times.
4Sissy
One of the more erratic and harder to learn characters in the game, Sissy uses poison and her wickedly sharp scalpel to hassle other players into submission. Her abilities are the most peculiar and almost feel out of place in this game with so many up-front and gruesome killers. Her poison ability injures and slows anyone who is unlucky enough to come into contact with it.
Learning where to place this poison and sticking around close enough to make good use of it is key to being good with this character. It’s hard to master this playstyle, but her skill tree does make it easier. All-in-all, she is a great support character, able to weaken other players and move around quickly, but she won’t be making the final attacks very often.

3Johnny
Johnny is one of the family members with a bit wider range of gameplay options thanks to his attributes. He’s quite an imposing figure in his cutoff shirt and wielding a hunting knife. While he doesn’t hit as hard as Leatherface, he is still more than capable of taking out cornered survivors, and his skill makes that even easier.
A natural stalker, he can see the trails of survivors when he focuses near them. This makes following their paths much easier. It isn’t as good a skill as The Cook’s, but used in conjunction with other family members, it can make a big difference in-match.

2The Hitchhiker
The Hitchhiker is an odd character, but one who brings speed, persistence, and unpredictability to the Slaughter family lineup. He has a lot going for him. For one, he is one of the faster family members, which means he can keep up with survivors more easily.

His traps though are what makes him really stand out. He carries three of them and can move and reset them at any time. Once you get a good idea of the various layouts, The Hitchhiker can make a hard time for any survivor who isn’t taking the time to watch where they’re going. Fully upgraded, The Hitchhiker is a character that can hunt down and trap targets quickly and efficiently.
1Leatherface
The most recognizable character of the series, and carrying the titular weapon whose sound has caused nightmares far and wide. Leatherface is a powerhouse of a man, andhis playstyleis tailored to fit that perfectly. One of the players must play Leatherface every round, but it never feels like a chore to do so. His chainsaw is powerful enough for one-hit-kills if used right.
It takes a bit of time to get the charge mechanic of his attacks down, but once you do, you’ll be an unstoppable force. This is exemplified by him being the only character who can quickly brush off attacks, and the only one who isn’t knocked down by Leland’s charge attack.

That’s all straight out of the gate too — once you work through his skill tree, any survivor will be rushing to escape at the very sound of your chainsaw. You wouldn’t want anything different from the character that made The Texas Chainsaw Massacre what it is.
