The Sims 4is ready to expand once again with theFor Rent Expansion pack. While you’ll have to wait a few weeks to play this new DLC, we do have some details on the features you can expect, as well as a release date and pre-order bonuses.
The core concept is an expansion on apartments which will allow you to not only build and live in different types of housing, but also to become a landlord. Here’s what you can look forward to.
The Sims 4 For Rent Features
Your Sims will now be able to reside inTomarang, a lush tropical locationwith a vibrant city skyline. ThisSoutheast Asian-inspiredworld is full of surprises.Botanical gardens, an animal sanctuary, and Spirit Houseare just some of the locations you’re able to visit. There’s also aNight Marketselling food and drink items including Tofu Pad Whai, Burmese Samosa Soup, Khao Niao Mamuang, Pancit Bihon, and Banh Cuon as well as Halo Halo and Thai Iced Milk Tea.
The focus here is onmulti-residential lotsin which you can house several households on the same lot. You’ll not only be able to live in these townhouses, duplexes, and apartments, but you’ll also be able totry your hand at being a landlordto Sim tenants. Choose tolive in the beautiful pre-built homes or create your ownwith a range of new furniture including wood carvings, rattan chairs, Wooden window shades and Southeast Asian-inspired decor.
With Sims living in close quartersadditions will also be made to Sims interactions. They can get involved in community events such as aPotluck or Pool Party, or just find out more about each other througheavesdropping, snooping, or even breaking and entering. Kids aren’t left out either, withhopscotch and marblesboth being added for them to play.
Noisy neighbours, and broken plumbingalso seem to be the norm in some places, alongside electricity outages. There’s also aterrifying looking deathfrom what appears to be mould. Looks like it’s not all going to be plain sailing!
The Sims 4 For Rent Release Date and Time
Pre-orders are available nowand The Sims 4 For Rent will launch at:
10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT on July 08, 2025
It will be available for PlayStation4, PlayStation5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC via EA app, Origin, Steam and Epic Games Store.

The pre-order bonus for The Sims 4: For Rent is the freeStreet Eats Digital Content pack. This includes a Quick Treats Grill street stall, Streetside Stars Shade, and Peak Freshness Fruit Basket.
