When you start encountering the Starborn inStarfield, the main story’s pace picks up. After you work on some repairs for Vladimir at The Eye, he learns that an old rival of his has come into possession of an Artifact, and doesn’t plan on selling it.

After completing “Short Sighted,” Vladimir will tell you to go to Captain Petrov’s ship, and that you may even have to resort to some below-the-board measures to get the Artifact. Here is a walkthrough for the numerous ways to get the Artifact, and several locked rooms aboard the Scow you can sneak into.

How To Enter The Scow

First things first, you need totravel toProcyon V-b, a moon that is inthe Procyon A System.

You’ll arrive in a debris field, and see the Scow ship flying in the distance. There aretwo ways you can get into the Scow; you can eithertalk your way in, or you can attack andforce your way in.

It’seasy to persuade your way in, as many options will work. Here are some to try:

If youchoose to attack instead, you’ll need totake out the engines for the Scowin order to forcibly board.The Scow is a level 10 ship, and it has support fromthree nearby particle turretswhich can do significant damage to you.

If youhaven’tleveled up your piloting skillsor other ship-related skills, it will be easier just to use persuasion.

What Is Behind The Locked Doors Before Captain Petrov

After entering the Scow, you’ll walk through a derelict and trashed ship to get to Captain Petrov. However, there area few places you should stop bybefore you reach him.Make sure you’re ready tomove around stealthily, as the guards won’t take kindly to you being in places you shouldn’t be.

To acquire most of the items mentioned,you will need to be okay with stealing, of course.

Locked Doors #1

You’ll eventually get toa hallway that splits into multiple waysyou can continue, witha guard standing in front of a locked door. The door has anAdvanced-level security lock, and you can take out the guard to unlock it.

In the areas before reaching Captain Petrov,Scow Guards are spread out and few in number. You caneasily stealth-kill most of these guardsif you want.

Once you are inside, there will betwo more guards on either side, luckily each facing away from you. Midway through this area is anotherAdvanced-lock door, and this justtakes you back out to the main hallway.

At the end of this area isanother locked door next to a coffee machine, this time with anExpert-level security lock. Hack into this room to get a bunch of items that include:

Locked Doors #2

Past this area, on the left side of the ship, you’ll seean alien creature’s skull on top of a stand. Nearby aresets of stairs that lead both up and down.

Thestairs leading up take you to a door with an Expert-level security lock. There’s not much up here, but there is anopening that allows you to drop down into the room below. Thestairs leading down take you to another Expert-locked door, which leads into the same room.

Onlyone Scow Guard patrols this room, which is basically an armory. In here, you’ll findmultiple ammo cases, some weapons, a weapons workbench, and even some credstiks.you’re able to even find a powerfulLegendary Concussive Arc Welderin this room.

The last thing to pick up in this room will be theScow Aux Weapons Key, which sits on a card stand by the windows. This will bean important item to access a secret roomlater on.

Talk To Erin September, Bull, And Raptor

When you go to continue through the ship, you’ll eventuallyreach the main chamber where Captain Petrov sitson a lounge like a king on a throne. Before talking to him, you canchat up a trio of mercenaries.

How To Persuade Captain Petrov

Captain Petrovrelaxes at the end of a large museum-like room, and you’ll have theoption to go up to talk to him. you’re able to go directly into attacking him if you want, but you’ll alsohave the chance to persuade him to let you see the Artifact.

You’ll likely havean unsuccessful first turntrying to persuade Petrov, but here are somefollow-up options that should help you successfully persuade him:

Upon successfully persuading him,he’ll lead you through the ship to the vault where he stores the Artifact.Once the two of you actually reach the vault, you will need totalk with Petrov again to actually try and get the Artifact.

How To Access Petrov’s Office

In the hallway behind Captain Petrov, you may seeliving quarters in a room to the left. If you make a detour into here, you canfind several valuable itemsyou may want to pick up:

How To Find The Thin Wall

Now, if instead you chose to follow to leads the mercenaries gave you tofind the secret entrance into the vault, you’ll belooking for the thin wallthey talked about.

Go past Petrov, and through the back hallways until you reacha dimly lit hallway that ends withone of those emergency cuttable walls.

Going through this will take you intoa large room with two Scow Guards, and a lower area that has a conveyor belt system. You’ll want todrop down in order to find another cuttable wall, which leads directly into the special vault.

A nearby room is patrolled byone more Scow Guard, and you’ll need to look fora button in here to open the display case for the Artifact.Once the Artifact is out in the open, you canretrieve it this way.

How To Release The Alien Zoo Creatures

Thesmall zoo of alien creaturescan also befound in the back hallways behind the room where you meet Petrov.It’s completely your choice to release the zoo, but you’llneed to have talked to the mercenary trio and learned the security password.

Interact with the computer by the zoo cageswhile knowing the password, andyou can open all the doors.The released animals can causea very useful distractionif you let them go, asthey will attack the crew of the Scow.

Thealien creatures will also fight you, andyour companion will likely attack them. Run far away after releasing them to avoid them.

The Locked Door Across From The Zoo

While you are by the zoo, you will seeanother set of rooms behind a locked door. This time, the first door only hasa Novice-level security lock. There isone Scow Guardthat will be in this area.

There is another locked door in this area thatcan be unlocked with the Scow Aux Weapons Key, which you could find earlierin one of the locked rooms before reaching Captain Petrov.In here, you will find:

Escape The Scow With The Artifact

Whether yousnuck through the cuttable wall,attacked your way through, orfollowed Petrov down to the vaultto see the Artifact, you’re leaving with the Artifact one way or another.

While you may have avoided open fighting up to this point, you shouldbe prepared to fight your way outif something goes sideways.Get back to your shipwith the Artifact.

Before you leave; inside the main entrance of the Scow, you candrop down to a lower storage areato pick up somecrafting materials, digipicks, and credstiks.

Travel back to Alpha Centauri andreturn to the Lodge. To finish the quest, all you have to do isadd the Artifact to your collection.

Adding the Artifact to your collection willimmediately begin “High Price to Pay.“Only add the Artifact if you areready to go straight into the next main quest.
