No more waiting in a virtual queue for three hours only to discover the consoles were all sold to scalpers two hours and 58 minutes ago. PS5s are so readily available in 2023 that if you’re lucky, you’ll find one for less than they usually retail for. Or, you happen upon a sale like the one below where the console comes bundled with a hit game, but the price cut means the game is effectively free.
A sale running atBest BuyandWalmartdoes almost exactly that. There are a number of PS5 bundles available through both sites right now for $50 less than they’re usually listed. Among the games bundled with the console areFinal Fantasy 16,God of War Ragnarok, andModern Warfare 2. Retailing for anywhere between $540 and $560 at full price, all of the bundles mentioned, and more, are currently $50 off.

The listings for the bundles don’t reveal when the $50 reduction will come to an end. However, theModern Warfare 2 bundle’s PS Direct listinghas the deal ending on September 30. Not a concrete date for when all the bundles will return to full price, but probably a good barometer to use if you need a little time to decide whether you’re going to use this chance to dive into the current generation of consoles for a little less than usual.

As for why PlayStation is selling PS5s for slightly cheaper than usual, there could be a few reasons. Not to mention sales were boosted by the pandemic as people in lockdown looked to the newest consoles for something to do. However, price cuts like these will also fuel the rumors that PlayStation is preparing to reveal a mid-gen update.
