But of course, making a deal with any devil - cambion or incubus - comes with its consequences. If you’re unsure about whether the risks outweigh the rewards in your encounter with Harleep, don’t worry; we’ve tested every outcome just for you (and maybe a little for ourselves too). Explore the depths of this devilish decision.
What Happens If You Reject Harleep’s Offer?
The first instinct many players will have is to automatically reject Harleep’s offer because of their incubus status. If you’re aware of what incubuses are, this is a fair - and the recommended - decision.
But rejecting Harleep’s offer willtrigger a combat scenariowith the incubus where you mustdefeat both Harleep and several spawned impswithEldritch Blast(Repelling Invocation).

The combat is an annoying encounter due to Harleep’sspecial condition: Ethereal Escape. When you make one successful attack against Harleep, Harleep will become immune to all damage after until their next turn.
This means that you’ll have towait several roundsto defeat Harleep. In the meantime,Harleep will spam-use Incubus Charmto take control of your party members. On a failed Wisdom save, they will become Harleep’s slave for three turns.

You’ll have todevote one person to attacking Harleepat firstwhile you defeat all the imps.Only after all imps are defeated should you focus all members on Harleep themself.
When Harleep is eventually defeated, you’llreceive theHelldusk Gauntlets. These gauntlets arepart of a legendary setand one of the best armor sets in the game.

Additionally,Harleep is carrying a key to Raphael’s safe. However, rejecting Harleep’s offer means that theincubus will not tell you where Raphael’s safe is.You’ll have to search for it on your own in the boudoir.
We recommend taking an extra-careful look at Raphael’s paintings in this room.

What Happens If You Accept Harleep’s Offer?
If you accept Harleep’s offer to lay with them in exchange for information about Raphael (and his safe), you’ll get the choice of which gender of Harleep you wish to lay with. This in itself has no consequence, but what does matter is that youfollow all of Harleep’s directionsfrom this point forward without enacting any more free will.
You can decide touse Wisdom or Performance (DC18) to resist Harleep’s initial charms.Succeeding these will tell you that there’s something off about Harleep’s advances, and you’ll have the chance toroll a Constitution save (DC25) to push Harleep away.

Pushing Harleep away will come back around to rejecting their deal, thereby initiating combat.
If you either submit to Harleep or fail your saves,Harleep will win the game. But what does winning the game entail?

Harleep will steal the aspect of your body. As they state, you will feel every time they have sexual intercourse with your form.
You won’t see any in-game consequences from Harleep’s deal while you’re in the House of Hope, however. Your consequence is acompletely random eventthat happensonce you’ve returned from Avernus.

At random points of adventuring, you will beovercome with a sensation of pleasure. If you are unable to resist it with a Constitution save, it is implied that you will haveorgasmed in public(which triggers unique, mostly disgusted responses from your companions).
This will continue to happen for the remainder of your run. The event isentirely random and has no known triggers(though does appear to happen more frequently when walking around the Lower City Central Wall Waypoint).

The only character who is not disgusted appears to be Astarion. His unique and surprisingly empathetic reaction may be enticing to see for fans of the vampire.
Your only benefit to choosing to accept Harleep’s deal (unless your character would enjoy these random encounters) is thatHarleep will tell you the location of Raphael’s safe and bestow the keyto unlock it freely.
Choosing to accept Harleep’s dealprevents you from completing the Helldusk set.You cannot attack Harleep once this encounter is over since they immediately teleport away.
There is an additional, humorous benefit in this deal as well if youask Harleep about Raphael’s performance in bed.you’re able to use this information when Raphael returns to the House of Hope tomock him, immediately triggering combat.
While this outcome has no in-game utility or function, the results are humorous enough to almost make this skewed deal worth it. Almost.
