You canlie to Aradinabout finding Nightsong ortell him the truth. He’lldemand a cutof the reward since he’s the one who gave you the contract, and you caneither agree or talk him out of it. Aradin will move aside and leave you alone, andyou can head inside.

Which Portal Leads To Lorroakan’s Tower

Once inside, head up the stairswhere Lorroakan’s Projection will greet you. You’ll need touse your knowledge of Nightsongto advance.Four portals will open, and you canexamine the plaquesbeside them to solve the puzzle.

If you recall from earlier, Nightsong is the daughter of Selune. Most people believe that the Nightsong is an ancient relic, making this puzzle essential to weeding out inexperienced adventurers.

Dame Aylin talking to Lorroakan in Baldur’s Gate 3

Interact with thefirst portal on the left(the blue one) to enter Lorroakan’s tower. When you arrive, you’ll find the wizard preparing to shoot an apple off of his assistant’s head.

Your interruption is met with an interrogation. Lorroakan willquestion what you knowabout the Nightsong.

Depending on how far along you are with Gale’s personal quest, and whether you take him with you for this, you may get a special bit of dialogue where the two wizards flex their knowledge and ambition.

He hopes to accomplish what Ketheric Thorm did previouslyby trapping Aylinin his tower. With her inherent gifts,he will become immortal, and for that, you will be handsomely rewarded.

Regardless of your answers, you will be left to fetch Nightsong. Until youspeak with her, the quest will not progress.

Bring Nightsong To The Tower

Return to your camp andspeak with Dame Aylin. You alert her to Lorroakan’s plans, and she is eager to show her strength. Dame Aylin willrace off to face himand set an example. While Isobel wants to come along,Dame Aylin convinces her to stay behind.

If Dame Aylin took damage during the battle at Moonrise Towers, you’ll want to make sureshe’s at full healthbefore talking to her.

It appears that she doesn’t regain hit points during the long rests, so she’ll need your help.

After your conversation, she takes off immediately; heal her beforehand.

Head back to Sorcerous Sundriesand enter the blue portal. You’ll arrive to findDame Aylin confronting Lorroakan.

During this conversation, Lorroakan tries tocalm the outraged Nightsong. In his attempt to persuade her to “share her gifts”, she outright refuses to be trapped again. This means there’s no room for compromise. Lorroakan gives you the signal, and it’s time tomake a choice.

Siding With Nightsong

Choosing tostand by Dame Aylinis the morally right option. However, it is themore difficult choiceof the two. You’ll have to confirm that you’returning against Lorroakan, and when you do, you’ll roll for initiative.

Fighting Lorroakan means going up against him, his assistant, Krank, andfour elemental Myrmidons. Lorroakan alsosiphons power offof these allies, making him hit harderand more frequently. If you hit him,he’ll strike backwith power from one of the elementals.

You’re in for along and difficult fight, but it’s the good fight. You’ll haveDame Aylin on your side. Separate your party toavoid AoE attacks, and focus onpicking off enemiesone at a time.

If Rolan the tiefling is still alive, he’ll be here. If you side with Nightsong, he’ll fight alongside you. While he mainly usesMagic Missile, every attack helps whittle away the Myrmidons health.

Krank and Miklaur are theeasiest to eliminate, so get rid of them first tospeed up the turn order. You’ll need to be careful, but thebattle can be wonin a handful of turns if you’re lucky.

After the battle, you canloot the towerfor magical items. If Rolan survives, he’lltake over the towerand bring his siblings to live there.

In your time of need, Rolanpledges to support you. You’ll gain moreallies in the fightto come, and you’ll maintain your relationship with Aylin (and Isobel by extension). Yourparty members are more likely to approveof this choice, except for the more chaotic characters.

Siding With Lorroakan

Choosing tobetray Dame Aylinmakes the fight much easier. There are only four enemies:Nightsong and three Moonlight Silver warriors. You’ll haveall of Lorroakan’s resourceson your side.

If youdidn’t heal Nightsong after Moonrise, she’ll have reduced health here, making the fight that much faster.

Once Dame Aylin has been defeated, Lorroakan and Rolan willmove her into the trap, sealing her fate. Lorroaken willsend you awaywith your payment andpromises to be a powerful allyin the fight against the mind flayers.

If you betray Dame Aylin, you will lose her as an ally. If Isobel still lives, you will also lose her.

Who Should You Side With In Act Three?

While the choice is up to you, itdepends on what kind of characteryou’re playing. Dame Aylin hasalready been trappedfor a century, and it’scruel to separate herfrom Isobel again and lock her in the same kind of trap. A bit ofgold isn’t worth the effort, nor is the wizard’s help in the final battle.

Lorroakan may bea powerful wizard, but he’s no aasimar. Siding with Nightsong means that you’llgain an additional three allies, while siding with Lorroakan meanslosing both Nightsong and Isobel.

Theright thing to dois support Aylin, but if you’replaying an evil character, or if you’re just greedy, you may have other plans. Either way, there isplenty of lootto be had no matter which side you take.
