The Unearthed quest inStarfieldis one of the two missions that are triggered after completing the previous quest, In Their Footsteps. This time, your journey toward Unity will carry you to Luna, Earth’s Moon in the Sol system.
What mysteries does the moon hold, and what could it possibly have to do with Unity, the artifacts, and your connection to them? No matter what, going to Luna is the next necessary step towards making sense of everything that’s happened so far, and everything you’ve lost. All of it will lead up to a choice you’ll have to make, the outcome of which will affect future quests.

What’s At Nova Galactic Research Station?
After leaving The Emissary’s ship,plot a course for the Nova Galactic Research Stationlocated on Luna.
After you land, go inside the Research Station using theMoon Base KeythatThe Emissarygave you.

As soon as you enter you’ll find a computer that holds all of the Nova Galactice Research. Access the computer.There you’ll learn of something called Project Prism.
Go back outside andup to the roof of the station. After listening to the recording of the launch of Project Prism,take your ship to NASA, located on Earth.

If yourSecurity skillis at least alevel three, before going to the roof head upstairs to the balcony and you’ll finda science crate with a Master lock.
Optional Objective: Collect The Moon Base Slates
In your mission to explore Moon Base, uncovering the hidden Moon Base Slates is an intriguing side quest. These slates hold valuable information, and finding them will enhance your understanding of the lunar base’s mysteries.
Moon Base Slate 02
Before leaving the station, go to the desk beside the one you interacted with in the beginning. On the bottom right side of the desk you’ll findMoon Base Slate 02.
Once you pick this slate up,you’ll unlock the optional objective in your missionto collect all the Moon Base Slates.

Moon Base Slate 05
Walk towards the bathroom, then turn left and immediately to your right is a little kitchen area.
Moon Base Slate 05 is on the counter next to the toaster oven.

Moon Base Slate 04
Go past the kitchen and look in one of the bedrooms across from the workout equipment.
Moon Base Slate 04 will be to the right of the bed.

Moon Base Slate 03
Head back to the main room and then through the blue door on the other side. To the right is a cluster of lockers.
Moon Base Slate 03 is inside one of those lockers.These lockers also have a few credsticks and med packs.

You can also loot the storage box on the shelving unit beside the lockers.
Moon Base Slate 01
Turn around andMoon Base Slate 01is in the cargo area near the lockers.
Moon Base Slate 06
Last but not least, go up the stairs to the balcony where the science crate is.On the desk at the end is Moon Base Slate 06.
Once you’ve located all the slates,head to your next main objective.

Find A Way Inside NASA
If you haven’t been to Earth in this game before, you’ll discover upon landing thatit’s not the luscious planet full of life that it once was.It is now nothing but a barren desert wasteland.
Exit your ship andfollow your quest marker for the NASA building.

To get inside,you need to find a way up to the elevator. You can see it from the ground when you look for the quest marker.
At the front of the tower you’ll find a door thatcan’t be opened without power. Climb up behind there to get to the next level.

On the next level,look behind the pipes to your rightand you’ll find apower cell. Take it down to the door, and go inside to loot the crates in there.
Head back up andfollow the next few flights of stairs uptill you find a room with filing cabinets, desks, and a large hole in the floor.
Go out the door to the left of the big hole in the floor andfollow it till your objective changes to “Enter NASA”.
Enter NASA
Ahead of you now is the elevator to go into NASA,but it needs power.
Jump across the hole andenter the door on the left with the NASA Access Code. Inside are some storage boxes andtwo power cells.
There is a power receptacle right where you find the power cells. Install one of the power cells there,then go take the elevator into the building. You’ll need the otherpower cell later, so take it as well.
Find Information About NASA And The Martian Sample
Once you’re inside,go straight ahead and you’ll find a computer at the back of the room. Open up the computer and selectAccess Station Logs, then open the log calledDelivery from Mars.
After you’re done at the computer,go through the door by the desk and go down into the cave below.
Walk through the rubble till you find adoor with a red light that leads you to a large museum-like room.
Feel free to walk around reading the different plaques of information about thehistory of NASA and space flight.
When you’re ready, follow your quest marker to the back of this room where you’ll findanother door with a red light.Enter it, and to your right you’ll find apersonal recording of Doctor Judith Tatienneregarding theMartian sample, which turns out to be one of theArtifacts.
Find Information About The Prototype Grav Drive
To your left is another cave. Follow the path down into a hallway filled with rubble.
At the end of this hallway go through thedoor on the right marked Lab, then boost or walk up the slope on the left to find the next door. Follow the pipes to ared Secure Access door in need of power.
Through the door to the right there’s a power switch.Activate it and you can open the Secure Access door.
Keep going further down into the cave till you’re in a room with stairs leading down toanother Secure Access door.
If youkept the extra power cell from earlier, you can use it here. If not,the caged area at the top of the stairsholds a power cell, you just need to unlock anAdvanced Level lockto get to it. You can also findtwo digipicksin this room.
Go down the stairs andinstall the power cell at the back of the room, then open the door.
Follow the hallway around then go up the stairs, through the door at the top,then go through the large black doors on your left.
This room is filled withturrets and a security robotthat will start shooting as soon as you walk in. So get your gun ready andmake sure you have enough ammo and health aids.
Once it’s safe you need tofind a way to get power to open the gatebehind the large doors at the back of the room.
You can go pick theAdvanced lockon the white door, orgo to the right of the large doorsand you’ll find aback way into that locked room.
Activate the power switch, then head back to the large doors.Open the gatethen head further down through thecave and down the ramp.
At the bottom of the rampyou’ll find a desk with the computeryou need to access to get information aboutThe Prototype Grav Drive.
As before,select Access Station Log, then read thefiles.
Find Information About Grav Drive Side Effects
Your journey through the caved-in NASA station is not yet complete.Go through the door behind you, then through the door to the stairwell, which you’ll discover haszero gravity.
Before going into the stairwell, to your left is anExpert Level locked doorwhere you’ll find a storage crate, and a safe with some decent loot locked behind anAdvanced Level lock.
Float down the stairs to the next level and you’ll find anAdvanced level locked door. Pick it, then turn the right to find a desk with a computer. On the floor in front of the computer is the dead body of Victor Aiza, the head scientist working on this project.
Access the computer for information about theGrave Drive side effects.
You learn that studying the Artifact iswhat led to the destruction of Earth, but also enabled the exploration of other planets and systems.This is important to remember for later in the quest.
On the desk beside the computer is theNASA Maintenance Key, which you’ll need for your next step.
Release And Take The Artifact
After you’veread the files on the computerand picked up themaintenance key, press the red button on the desk torelease the Artifact. This will cause the gravity to go back to normal.
Next, headback to the stairwelland make your way to the bottom floor,then open the door to where the Artifact is and take the Artifact.
Escape NASA
Once you collect the Artifact,The Emissary and The Hunterwill hail you from their ship to warn you that theother Starborn have come for you.
Run back through the facility,fighting the Starbornas you make your way back up. Be mindful of yourammo and healthas you go.
If you come across a wall that saysEmergency Cuttable Walland you have a Cutter, use it tocut the four cornersto give you a shortcut for your escape.
Should You Side With The Emissary Or The Hunter?
As you leave NASA,The Emissary and The Hunterare waiting for you on the ground below.
You’ll now have three options to choose from:
Spoiler Ahead
The choice you make willdetermine how difficult the final battleis at the end of the main quest line. If you side with either The Emissary or The Hunter,you’ll only have one major opponent, but if you do your own thing,you’ll have to fight both of them.
Once you’vemade your choiceand the conversation is over, finish theFinal Glimpsesmission before you can move on to the next Main quest.
