There have been a lot ofStar Warsgames over the years with a few more big ones on the horizon. If there are some you’ve missed, or you’d like to own physical copies of them on an up-to-date console, then you’re in luck. The Heritage Pack, which was made available through the Nintendo eShop earlier this year and includes seven classic Star Wars games, is getting a physical release onSwitch. Even better, you can pre-order the collection now and it’ll be here in time for the holidays.
There are some pretty special games included in the Heritage Pack. The Force Unleashed, Republic Commando,Episode One Racer, Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast, and perhaps best of all, bothKnights of the Old Republicgames. Honestly, the pack is probably worth the price for those last two alone. The only downside is while the other five games are on the cartridge, the Knights of the Old Republic titles are digital downloads.
The price may well be the most pleasantly surprising thing about the Heritage Pack’s physical release. Not only is $60 for what is effectively seven games an incredibly good deal, but it’s $20 cheaper than the digital version of the pack currently available through the eShop. No indication as to how limited physical copies will be, but you’re able to pre-order yours right now through the links below.
Star Wars Heritage Pack
The Star Wars Heritage Pack for Nintendo Switch puts seven classic games into the same neat package. Headlined by the two Knights of the Old Republic games and now available both physically and digitally.
Grabbing the Heritage Pack might well be the best way to play Knights of the Old Republic on anything in 2023 as the remake of the game looks further away now than it has ever been. The latest twist in what has become a very long tale wasSony scrubbing any mention of it from social media. No official confirmation yet that the project is dead, butSony’s recent actions are the latest in a long line of indicators that all is not well with the maligned remake.
News surrounding the sequel hasn’t been much better. The Switch port was supposed to be getting the Restored Content mod as DLC but that has since been canceled. To make matters worse, owners of the game havefiled a class action lawsuit against the studio for the DLC’s cancellation. All of that to say you might want to grab the Heritage Pack if you don’t own the games already as it may well be the only way of playing some of its games on modern consoles that you ever get.
