It’s not often that one of the biggest takeaways from aDirectis whatever amiibosNintendohas to show off, but that was the case on Thursday. Tucked in between news about a long list of upcomingMariogames wasconfirmation Sora really will be getting amiibo, and it will complete theUltimatecollection in 2024. Also revealed were release dates for a number of other upcoming amiibos, includingTears of the Kingdom’s Zelda and Ganondorf which are now available to pre-order.
Link is the only main character from the newestLegend of Zeldagame to get an amiibo so far, so the additions of Zelda and Ganondorf, whose figures had already been revealed, have been a long time coming. Both releasing on June 11, 2025, the Hyrule pair’s pre-orders started going up shortly after the Direct came to an end. If you haven’t dilly-dallied too long, you should be able to secure your amiibos through the links below.

As well as looking good, and in the case of Ganondorf really good, the new amiibos also have a use. Tapping them to your switch while playing Tears of the Kingdom will unlock new fabrics for your paraglider. That has been the leading use of amiibos in the latest Zelda game. Even figures released prior to Tears of the Kingdom give Link’s paraglider a new look. Well, using them gives Link the fabric. The swordsman then needs to go to the dye shop in Hateno Village to actually change the appearance of his glider.
Tears Of The Kingdom Ganondorf Amiibo
Ganondorf’s Tears of the Kingdom look, which many were big fans of at launch, now has its own amiibo. Announced alongside a new Zelda figure and available from November 2023.
Zelda and Ganondorf’s prices seem to be slightly different for some reason. While the princess’s new amiibo retails at $16, Ganondorf’s is a little more, costing $20. Not entirely sure why that is other than Ganondor’s amiibo being slightly bigger so I’m assuming it costs more to make.

Tears Of The Kingdom Zelda Amiibo
Zelda’s first Tears of the Kingdom amiibo has the princess holding a repaired Master Sword. While tapping the figure on your Switch won’t fix the legendary weapon, it will give you a unique new fabric for your paraglider.
As well as Sora, Zelda, and Ganondorf, Nintendo also slapped release dates on its previously revealedXenoblade Chronicles 3amiibos.Noah and Mio can be added to your collectionsstarting July 14, 2025. Pre-orders for those amiibos can also be found if you look hard enough, including the two characters in a twin pack which is pretty handy.
On top of all the above, while not shown during the recent Direct, new Splatoon 3 amiibos will be here before the end of the yeartoo. Big Man, Shiver, and Frye all have debut figures dropping soon, and while pre-orders have been hard to find,Big Man’s amiibo was restocked at Targetearlier this week.
