Texas Chain Saw Massacreplayers are unhappy about the prince of the game’s DLC packs, with some even saying that it’s going to be what ends up killing it.
Just a few days ago, Gun revealed its next piece of DLC for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Game -an exclusive outfit for Leatherface designed by Greg Nicotero, a legendary figure in the horror community for his makeup effects on Day of the Dead, The Walking Dead, and even Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3.

Although the skin (no pun intended) for Leatherface and unique chainsaw design have been positively received, fans were shocked to discover that the DLC was priced at $16, which is nearly half the price of the base game. Things only got worse when Gun responded to the controversy by revealing its pricing and release plans for the rest of the game’s DLC.
According to Gun’s tweet on the matter, Nicotero’s Leatherface bundle counts as “premium content”, which is why it’s priced higher than anything else released for the game so far. Nicotero’s bundle isn’t the only problem though, as new Victims and Family members will cost $9.99 each and won’t be bundled together. Packs of Executions will also cost $6.99, while new skins for weapons and clothing will be $4.99 each. A
Although Gun reiterated that new maps for the game will be free, fans still aren’t happy at all about the high prices and have taken to social media to share their annoyance. Most of the comments underneath the YouTube trailer for the Nicotero bundle are complaining about the price, with comments such as, “What a cool skin! sure hope it doesn’t cost half the base games price!” and “When the scariest thing about a Leatherface skin bundle is the price”.
Things are even worse on the game’s subreddit page, with all of the highest-rated posts over the past few days being about the DLC prices. One popular post from Redditor Jaskador captioned “Back to DBD I guess”, shows Gun shooting the Texas Chain Saw Massacre and blaming the community for it.Another popular post from Redditor joeorec points out that Dead By Daylight costs half the priceoverall and also only charges $5 for each character.
Usually this kind of situation has players on both sides of the fence, but it seems that almost everyone is in agreement that these prices are too high and that it’s going to end up hurting the game in the long run, which is a shame considering the success it’s seen over the past few months.Members of the game’s development team have tried to defend the choice, but it’s looking like the community is having none of it so far.
