WithSuper Mario Wonder, plenty of changes have been made to the standard 2DMarioplatformer that makes this the most interesting entry in years. One of the best additions that has been made to keep the gameplay fresh are badges.

Theorange action badgesoften take more of the spotlight since their effects are a lot more noticeable, but the more passive blue boost badges can be just as useful. So, when looking through all of the blue boost badges that are on offer, which are the best, which are the most versatile, and which will you never find yourself equipping?

11All Fire Power

The All Fire Power badge is just as you would imagine, making it so every time you pick up a power-up, you get the Fire Flower ability.

This is not to say that the Fire Flower is not useful, but there are very few levels that require the Fire Flower to reach unlockables, or to get to the end. It is great if you want some extra offense, but there are other power-ups that do a much better job at this.

10All Drill Power

Similarly to the All Fire Power badge, the All Drill Power badge will let you get the Drill Power, wheneveryou obtain a power up. Unlike the Fire Flower, the Drill Power is needed in some levels to reach areas, so equipping this after a fall is a good idea.

However, it has a very niche use, and outside of drill-focused levels, it isn’t too useful unless you have a very specific method of attacking enemies.

9All Bubble Power

Like the two before it, the All Bubble Power replaces every power-up with the Bubble Flower. Unlike the drill and fire power-ups, the bubble power is a lot more versatile, being useful for combat and platforming.

It is one of the trickiest abilities to master, but once you know how to use it, the possibilities are almost endless.

8Coin Reward

The Coin Reward badge does as it describes, giving you an extra reward of coins when achieving certain goals, but mainly for taking down enemies.

If you are low on lives, you can equip this badge and go into areas you don’t struggle with and rack up all the coins you could need. However, there are other badges that give you coins in a more interesting and perhaps more effective way.

7Add ! Blocks

If you arestruggling with some very specific platforming, and you feel like the platforms you are working with are just too tight to land on, then the Add ! Blocks badge is one you might want to try out. It will add useful ! blocks in different locations depending on the level, making it easier to land jumps, and some will even give you coins and power-ups.

The usefulness of this badge does depend on the level, and it can make some levels so easy that they lack any challenge at all.

6Coin Magnet

The coin magnet ability does exactly as it says, making it easier to collect coins, by magnetizing your character and pulling them all to you.

This does not work on certain static coins, but other than this, most coins will come right to you. If you are in a level that shoots coins in every direction, and you do not want to miss any, then this badge is your best chance at ensuring you don’t.

5Safety Bounce

Another option for if you are struggling with certain levels is the Safety Bounce Badge. If the level has pits of lava, acid, or something similar, this badge will bounce you back once if you fall into it, instead of losing a life. This means that you will not be able to bounce endlessly, but for each fall you will get another chance to save yourself.

With how often falls like this can happen, equipping this badge is a great way to save your time when working through these levels.

4All Elephant Power

Compared to the other power-up abilities, the All Elephant Power is definitely much more versatile. The Elephant Power-up simply has way more abilities than the others, and because of this, you are much more likely to want this power-up in more situations.

Especially if the level is throwing a variety of different enemies your way, having the Elephant Power will make sure that you will be able to take them down easily. It also makes destroying blocks, and spreading water much easier too.

3Rhythm Jump

The Rhythm Jump ability is not one of the most useful abilities when it comes to traversal or survival, but for a fun and passive method of collecting extra coins, using this rhythmic ability to get more coins is a great idea.

This badge will give you extra coins if you jump on beat, and this can make some waiting sections of levels a lot more engaging since you can use this ability whenever.

2Auto Super Mushroom

The Auto Super Mushroom might seem like the less useful version of the other auto power-up abilities, but the Super Mushroom can actually make retrying levels a lot more simple.

When you restart a section, you will be the mini version of your character, and your first power-up will just be a mushroom, so negating this step means you will always have the ability the level thinks is best when you use this badge.
