If you’re curious about the process, bosses are judged by their overall difficulty and challenge, their unique moves and appearance, the background of the stage you fight them, and any other applicable factors. Who knows, as you read on, you might even discover a new appreciation for these bosses you previously hadn’t considered.

8Orospina, Lady Embroiderer

Something is enchanting and alluring aboutOrospina’s unique blend of elegance and lethality. As an embroiderer, she wields a large needle that doubles as a rapier, which compliments the fencer-like stance she assumes when stationary.

Except, this is no ordinary fencer; Orospina blinks in and out of your vision, teleporting around to carry out dazzling, deadly attacks. Strangely, this fight feels like a dance; a bloodthirsty choreography that, in her final stage, feels likea fight with MelaniafromElden Ringas a flurry of slashing strikes are unleashed.

A player dodges bright blue flashes indicating deadly attacks from Orospina’s rapier in Blasphemous 2.

7Lesmes And Infanta

The fight between Lesmes and Infanta is a real treat, not only for the challenge but the destructive beauty of the flaming vortexes that Lesmes summons across the boss stage. Don’t get too caught up in the visuals, though, because the fight begins when you have to fight Lesmes and Infanta at the same time.

Dashing is your friend in this fight, as you’ll have to pass through flaming vortexes to avoid Infanta’s projectile attacks when they go airborne. The bells in the background that occasionally ring out are also a nice touch; for some reason, ringing bells just add to the epic atmosphere of boss battles.

Multiple swirling, fiery red and orange vortexes threaten the player in Blasphemous 2.

6Afilador, Sentinel Of The Emery

Afilador is a very interesting boss, appearing as both some kind of agile battle master, and an enemy you’d expect to see inBloodborne. If Orospina’s fight feels like an elegant, but deadly choreography, Afilador is the inverse; this boss wants to throw the whole kitchen sink at you to dig you a grave as early as possible.

A variety of sharp, metal swords, spears, and other weapons being flung into the sky towards the player in Blasphemous 2.

Afilador has all kinds of tricks up their sleeve, using dashing spinning attacks, ricocheting daggers, and jumping into the background of the stage to hurl the plethora of weapons that litter the battlefield into the air towards you. Also, a unique and welcome bit of personality for Afilador is the sharpening stone on their back they use to maintain a perfectly sharp blade.

5Benedicta Of The Endless Orison

Benedicta’s fight is the epitome of platforming skills; you’re going to be jumping, dashing, and moving all over the stage constantly to avoid her large, excessive projectile attacks. As the fight goes on, you’ll lose one of the platforms you were jumping between, so attempt to finish her off as fast as possible at that point.

Two neat features of this arena include the ability to enter the left or right sides of the screen and pop out at the opposite side, and the interactive nature of the entire battle stage constantly moving upwards.

A gigantic purple projectile with sharp spikes is hurled from left to right by Benedicta in Blasphemous 2.

4Odon Of The Confraternity Of Salt

Odon has some serious style, rocking a polished, clean-looking set of heavy plate armor, adorned with red and gold cloth and a massive shoulder pauldron. If that wasn’t cool enough,Odon wields a gigantic halberdthat can channel lightning and summon undead allies.

The open sea in the background is a nice touch, given that Odon uses a handful of water-based attacks. The key to this fight is to deal with the summons first and be ready to jump at a moment’s notice because Odon uses a ton of ground attacks. Lastly, this boss gets bonus points for the music; the instrumental is incredible.

3Svsona, Fermosa Fembra

Svsona is symbolic and reminiscent of many things. In appearance, Svsona takes on what could be described as a ‘biblical’ aesthetic you’d see in artworks from the Renaissance. Combat-wise, some of Svsona’s attacks feel like a bullet hell you’d expect from games like Enter The Gungeon.

Other attacks, like that bright blue death laser, might remind you of attacks and fights from other video games, like the Martian Invasion event fromTerraria. As a side note, Svsona’s art style is also a nice homage to the game’s overall tone in terms of deep religiosity and spiritual devotion.

2Eviterno, Last Desecrator

Eviterno is hands down one of the coolest bosses in this game. He has epic, thought-provoking dialogue and voice lines, a gnarly, blood-red sword with massive, eye-catching slashing attacks, and the agility and move set of an anime protagonist.

This boss will keep you on your feet at all times, and hopefully give you goosebumps indicative of a high-stakes, intense boss battle with equally epic music. The only downside of this fight is that you don’t get to snatch up that awesome sword once you beat Eviterno.

A devastating and wide, bright blue beam of deadly energy is blasted downwards in Blasphemous 2.

1Incarnate Devotion

It doesn’t get more epic or wild than your fight with Incarnate Devotion; you’re fighting God, can you go any farther than that? After all, that’s usually the highest the bar can go, and that’s certainly the case for games like Elden Ring or Path of Exile.

The pixel art is masterfully done and highly detailed, giving Incarnate Devotion a ‘pure’ look, as if made of white marble and glimmering gold. The boss music is hype and cinematic and is very fitting for the flurry of attacks being constantly thrown at you. Lastly, the voice acting feels very suitable; ‘god-like’ and commanding.

Eviterno swings their blood red sword in a 180 degree arc as the player dodges out of the way in Blasphemous 2.
