The newest set in theDigimon Card Game, BT13 Versus Royal Knights, is a meta-defining set that brings players tons of powerful cards featuring their favorite Royal Knights, like Alphamon and Gallantmon. Not only is this set focused on the Royal Knight Mega Zoo deck, but the new Burst Mode Digivolution cards are found in the set.

Burst Mode cards, alongside the new Royal Knights, give life to older decks that always seemed incomplete and give them that extra push to be viable in a local tournament setting or even at higher-level competitive events like Ultimate Cup or regional events.
10Gankoomon
The Versus Royal Knights set includes the long-awaited Royal Knights deck, which introduces a new, yet familiar way to play the game. Commonly known as a “Mega Zoo” deck, where you focus on hard playing biggerDigimonto quickly pressure your opponent rather than Digivolving slowly in the Raising Area.
With the help of King Drasil, you can play some of the Royal Knights for a reduced cost, and the ones found in this set come with built-in “On Play” abilities that maximize their potential, like Gankoomon which lets you play another Royal Knight for free.

9Magnamon
Although this Magnamon doesn’t have Armor Purge like its BT8 counterpart, it can still be a blocker that you need in a pinch, and it can float into a Veemon from its sources or your hand. Most Veemon cards in the game have a searching ability, making this a huge tempo boost for you.
Magnamon is more suited forRoyal Knightsdeck as a cheaper card to play rather than the usual 12 and 13-cost cards you are playing, but it’s flexibility as anotherVeemonArmor Form can create some cheeky Armor Rush decks.

8Gallantmon
Gallantmon can be a powerful threat in any Royal Knights deck. The deck inherently allows you to reduce the cost of the Knights by, at the very minimum, four memory, and Gallantmon’s ability to further reduce its cost by two for every five cards in both players’ trash, makes this card a huge threat at any point in the game.

Gallantmon is basicallythe staple Gaia Forceon a 13,000 DP body that can remove anything when it comes into play and when it attacks.
7Dynasmon
Being a deck that plays up to seven different colors, finding a searcher that can find your combo pieces might be a difficult task, especially since your optional cards are mostly restricted to white since King Drasil is a white-colored DigiEgg.
Dynasmon serves that purpose for the deck. This card is the lowest-cost Royal Knight besides Magnamon. At six memory, with King Drasil’s effect, Dynasmon can grab two Royal Knights from the top five cards of your deck to speed up your following plays.

6DoruGreymon
Alphamon was one of the strongest decks during its high points in BT9 X-Record, but with Bandai limiting BT7 DoruGreymon to one copy per deck, it hurt the consistency and kill potential of the deck.
With BT13, Alphamon gets brand-new tools to play with a whole new Digivolution line that fixes the consistency issues that plagued the deck in the past. The new DoruGreymon can constantly add sources to the Alphamon stack, making it harder to remove and giving it more fodder for memory gain with Alphamon Ouryuken.

5Belphemon: Rage Mode
Trash management is the name of the game when it comes to purple decks in the DCG, but Belphemon takes it to another level. With the new Gizmon cards, that can delete even your DigiEggs to reduce their play costs, Belphemon can play level six Digimon with ease.

Rage Mode is usually kept in the trash to tuck under by Sleep Mode’s When Digivolving effect, creating a wall that can stop any attack, and destroy your opponent’s board the following turn.
4Alphamon
The king of One-Turn-Kill, more commonly known in the TCG space as “OTK,” Alphamon is one of the most popular Royal Knights. This deck brought the X-Antibody archetype into the limelight during BT9 and showed the world that it is one of the most consistent and powerful sub-archetype in the game.
This new Alphamon doesn’t focus too much on the OTK aspect of the deck, but rather on a more control-oriented play-style. This card can stun your opponent’s Digimon cost 10 or more and provides you the much-needed protection that most decks have nowadays.

3MirageGaogamon: Burst Mode
The set is not pure Royal Knights, it also includes the long-awaited Burst Mode Digivolutions for the Digimon Savers protagonists. Burst Digivolution can be executed for free by returning a specific Tamer from play to your hand, making it free.
The new MirageGaogamon: Burst Mode is one of the best things that the Gaomon deck could ask for. This card can return any Digimon back to the hand and gain memory while doing so, but its best effect is being able to send cards from your opponent’s hand to the bottom of their deck.

2ShineGreymon: Burst Mode
Being a red Digimon, ShineGreymon: Burst Mode is all about aggression. This Digimon can play a Tamer for free, meaning you can replay the Tamer you just returned to your hand for the Burst Digivolution, and it becomes a 12,000 DP Digimon with Rush.
Essentially giving you a massive beat stick to defeat your opponent.

That extra Tamer can give you that extra Security Check you need to close out the game because, due to ShineGreymon’s effect, when a Tamer suspends, you may trash the top card of your opponent’s Security.
1Omnimon
The Royal Knights deck plays a bit like D-Reaper. The deck likes to play slow in the early game, while building enough resources to play every single Royal Knight using Omnimon’s On Play ability.
The leader of the Royal Knights can play one of each Digimon underneath King Drasil’s sources for free and give them Rush, so they can swarm your opponent and delete their Security. There is a reason why this card is a Secret Rare. It’ll be hard to pull but a playset of this card is a must in any Royal Knight deck.
