In just about every card game, drawing cards is a vital component in staying ahead of your opponents, and inDisney Lorcana, that remains true. Keeping your hand full gives you the most options to try and secure a victory, but you want to ensure you’re playing the best cards you can.

Even in Lorcana’s first set, The First Chapter, there are some powerful draw effects you’ll want to keep track of. Some of these cards are pure card advantage while others are a bit more situational if you want to get the best use out of them. No matter what type of deck you’re building, you’ll want to keep these draw cards in mind.
10Simba, Future King
At just one ink, Simba, Future King isan efficient character that provides card draw, at a cost. When Simba comes into play, his Guess What? ability triggers, letting you draw a card to then discard a card.
Technically, Simba doesn’t actually provide any card advantage for you, it’s a neutral effect. If you have five cards in hand, you go down to four to play Simba, and then draw and discard, so you’re still only at four cards. That’s not to say Simba’s ability is bad, especially if there are ways to recur cards from your discard pile as more sets release.

9Maurice, World-Famous Inventor
A little more narrow in terms of card draw, Maurice, World-Famous Inventor is a fairly well-rounded card. Whenever he quests, he makes the next item card you play cost two less ink to cast. And when you play an item card, you get to draw a card.
Maurice makes it so your items replace themselves when you play them, though you have to keep in mind that it’s a may effect, so if you forget, you miss the trigger entirely. Since Maurice is a little higher cost, you might want to hold on to an item or two until you can play him to make sure you can hit his trigger.

8Robin Hood, Unrivaled Archer
Another six-ink card, Robin Hood, Unrivaled Archer rewards you for emptying your hand early in the game. When Robin Hood comes into play, if you have fewer cards in hand than your opponent, you get to draw a card.

Sapphire is particularly good at ramping up in ink, with cards that let play extra cards into your inkwell. Since this will put you ahead in terms of resources but behind in cards to play, Robin Hood lets you catch up a little so long as your opponent has more cards than you.
7Develop Your Brain
While not technically a draw effect, Develop Your Brain still puts cards into your hand, while also giving you a choice, which is always good. When you play this two-ink action, you get to look at the top two cards of your deck. One of those cards is put into your hand while the other goes on the bottom of your deck.
Letting you look at two cards gives you twice as many options to choose from than just drawing a card, which is especially good if you’re trying to dig for a specific card.

The Mad Hatter, Gracious Host isn’t guaranteed card draw, but odds are pretty good that your opponent will want to take it out quickly, getting you at least one card but likely two or three before it’s banished.
When Mad Hatter is challenged, you can draw a card, which is pretty darn good. Since you can quest for three lore with him, you’ll want to quest as often as you can. Your opponent will want to take him out quickly, but with a Willpower of four, the odds are fairly good that you’ll be drawing at least one card.

5Maleficent, Sorceress
Some of the best draw effects you may get in Lorcana are ones attached to a character, and one of the most straightforward ways to do so is with Maleficent, Sorceress. When this Maleficent comes into play, you draw a card.

Maleficent doesn’t have the greatest stat line, a 2/2 for three ink, it’s a great card to gum up the board with characters that will either help gather lore for you or take down other smaller and already damaged characters.
4Friends On The Other Side
A three-ink Song, Friends on the Other Sideis an extremely efficient way to draw cards. When you play this card, you get to draw two cards, which is a pretty straightforward way to refill your hand.
This card gets better if you’re able to sing it by exerting a character with an ink cost of three or more. Since you will likely have your ink open if you sing it, you can then use your open ink to play one of the cards you just drew.

3Stitch, Rock Star
A powerful payoff for playing a bunch of low-cost characters, the Floodborn version of Stitch, Rock Star helps keep both your hand and your board full of cards. With Stitch out, every time you play a character with a cost of two ink or less, you may have them enter play exerted to draw a card.
Since you canshift Stitch for four ink if you have another Stitch in play, you can ramp into him quickly to make the best use of his ability. While you’re at it, Stitch quests for an impressive three lore, making him a powerful card play in your decks.

2A Whole New World
You can’t ask for more card draw than completely replacing your hand with seven brand-new cards. When you play A Whole New World, both you and your opponent discard your hands to draw seven new cards each.
You will want to play strategically with A Whole New World, you might not want to play it if your opponent has two or fewer cards in hand since you’ll also be giving them a new grip of cards to play. But if you can empty your hand quickly and then follow up with A Whole New World, you’ll be seeing more cards than your opponent, giving you a leg up in the game.

1Rapunzel, Gifted With Healing
The best cards to help you draw more cards are those that come with other upsides attached to them and Rapunzel, Gifted with Healing has one of the best. When it comes into play, her Gleam and Glow ability triggers, removing up to three damage from any of your characters.
If you heal any character this way, you draw cards equal to the amount of damage healed. Not only can you draw up to three cards this way, but you can heal a bunch of damage from one of your characters.
