Warframehas received a new Prime weapon to celebrate the game’s tenth-year anniversary and Tennocon 2023. The Gotva Prime is visually similar to the Aeolak, although the weapons aren’t related in any way. It’s closer to the Baza and Soma in terms of functionality, acting as a high-damage assault rifle without compromising on status procs or accuracy.

Anyone who watched the main Tennocon 2023 stream will have this weapon sent to their inbox, but any Tenno who missed the event will be able to receive this weapon in the future. For those fortunate enough to receive the Gotva Prime, this guide will showcase the best builds you can create for this weapon to dominate Star Chart and Steel Path content.
How To Obtain The Gotva Prime
The Gotva Prime was a Twitch drop available during Tennocon 2023.If you missed this stream drop, Digital Extremes has clarified thatthe weapon will become available at a future date.If it’s handled anything like the Aklex Prime or Afuris Prime, it’ll most likely be released as Relics exclusively from Baro Ki' Teer during a future visit, although this hasn’t been confirmed.

The Gotva Prime is anassault riflethat behaves identically to the Karak and Baza. No unique mechanics are present on this weapon, although it features a solid stat package withabove-average critical chance, a high critical multiplier, and high status chance. This makes the Gotva a solid workhorse weapon for Star Chart content and, with some investment, most Steel Path nodes.
What is unique about the Gotva is its damage spread, or lack thereof. The Gotva only deals Puncture damage, lacking Impact and Slash in its damage pool entirely. Puncture procs will scale your critical chance additively with this gun, allowing it to land critical hits quite reliably with a moderate investment into critical chance and status chance. This also makes the weapon a great candidate forHunter Munitions and Viral damage.

Gotva Prime Builds
The Gotva Prime is a fairly easy weapon to create builds for, especially thanks to the gun’s three default polarities. We will be sharing two builds for the Gotva, one aimed at newer players who received the weapon as a Twitch drop and a second build for endgame use. Our first build requires no Forma, while the second build uses four Forma and Exilus Adapters for Arcane enhancements and utility mods.
Gotva Prime Riven Mods
None of the builds listed below require Riven mods to function. With that said, any Riven mod withcritical chance, critical damage, elemental damage, base damage, or multishotwill perform well on the Gotva Prime.
Starter Build (0 Forma)
This loadout is intended for newer players. Use as many of these mods as you currently own, and focus on maxing the 5-rank mods first before 10-rank mods like Serration.
This starter configuration only requires an Orokin Catalyst to use, a small price to pay for how strong this build is. We start by scaling the base damage withSerrationand multishot withSplit Chamber, respectively. We then scale our critical chance withCritical Delay, tripling our critical chance to 68%. Paired with Puncture procs, this weapon will consistently crit.Vital Sensewill then increase the Gotva Prime’s critical multiplier to 5.5x, massively increasing this weapon’s damage.

Elemental damage is a great way to further scale a weapon’s damage, sowe’ll be makingViralby combiningColdandToxin. We do this by usingRime RoundsandInfected Clip, both of which are fairly easy to obtain. We still have a few points left, so we’ll give this weapon a boost against armor by equippingHunter Munitions. This gives critical hits a 30% chance to inflict a Slash proc, causing the target to bleed for a few seconds. This ignores armor and scales with Viral’s status effect that increases HP damage taken, making these Slash procs quite powerful for all Star Chart content.
The last few points can be used on any mod you please. We opted to use an R1Speed Triggerto counteract the negative fire rate from Critical Delay, but feel free to use a quality-of-life mod instead.
Endgame Build (4 Forma)
Our endgame build should look familiar to veteran Warframe players, as this is a popular configuration for most assault rifles. Unlike most builds, wedon’t use Galvanized Aptitudebecause this gun only inflicts two elemental effects. Scaling the Gotva’s critical chance or critical multiplier will lead to a more noticeable damage boost. If you’re buffing your damage through Warframe abilities like Nourish, feel free to use Galvanized Aptitude over Galvanized Scope.
We start by scaling our base damage withPrimary Merciless, scaling our damage up to +360% with enough kills. We then scale our multishot withGalvanized Chamberto gain +230% multishot after five kills. Critical mods stay the same with this configuration, usingCritical DelayandVital Senseto scale our critical chance and multiplier values, respectively. Our core element is stillViral, except we’ll be usingPrimed Cryo RoundsandMalignant Forceto gain more Viral damage than our starter build. To counteract the slower fire rate from Critical Delay, we usePrimed Shredto scale our fire rate and punch through. If you don’t have this mod, use any other fire rate mod.
To ensure that this weapon always crits, this build usesGalvanized Scopeto gain a massive boost to the Gotva’s critical chance by landing headshot kills. At max stacks, this weapon will always land critical hits with a 42% of landing an orange crit. For the final mod slot, we useHunter Munitionsto proc Slash bleeds from these guaranteed critical hits, allowing this gun to damage heavily armored targets in Steel Path content. The Exilus mod is down to preference. We useVigilante Suppliesto give this weapon a small chance to enhance its critical chance by one tier, causing this weapon to land red crits.
