Combat in Armored Core 6 takes place across both land and sky, and the choice of legs plays a large role in how you as the player can respond to these threats. There are four leg types in Armored Core 6: bipedal, reverse joint, tetrapod, and tank. This list will break down some of the most standout options.

10AL-J-121 Basho

The AL-J-121 Basho are a pair of bipedal legs, and they were developed by BAWS for use with older-generation machines. Significantly less bulky than the DF-LG-08 TIAN-QIANG, these legs can be unlocked in the store for COAM 141,000. The AL-J-121 Basho legs offer 4,160 AP, 774 Attitude Stability, 62,600 Load Limit, 20,520 weight, and 300 EN load.

The AL-J-121 Basho features less defense than the DF-LG-08 TIAN-QIANG, but is on the other hand more maneuverable and has a lower overall weight. The AL-J-121 Basho is a balanced, general-use option for starter builds utilizing bipedal legs.

9DF-LG-08 Tian-Qiang

The DF-LG-08 TIAN-QIANG legs, as developed by Dafen Core Industries, are a heavier option for bipedal builds available relatively early in the game. These bipedal legs can be purchased at the store for 350,000 COAM, and offer a decently well-rounded 4,200 Armor Points, 825 Attitude Stability, 82,600 Load Limit, and 23,600 weight, with an EN Load of 400.

The DF-LG-08 TIAN-QIANG legs are a bulkier option than the AL-J-121 Basho, and trade off the benefits of having a higher load limit for an additionally high weight and load on your mech.

8RC-2000 Spring Chicken

The RC-2000 Spring Chicken legs are a reverse joint leg type developed by RaD for use in scouting and transportation. They can be purchased in the store for 419,000 COAM. Reverse joint legs are best used in more lightweight builds, with robust aerial maneuverability and the ability to facilitate higher jumps.

The RC-2000 Spring Chicken legs have 4080 AP, 586 Attitude Stability, 68,360 Load Limit, 25,890 weight, and 402 EN Load. Maneuverability makes up for having slightly more vulnerability to stagger, lending these legs a higher “risk vs. reward” type of gameplay experience.

7VP-424

The VP-424 are a set of legs in the tetrapod style developed by Arquebus for mobility and fire support. Tetrapod legs are more situational compared to bipedal legs, seeing more niche functionality but bestowing the ability to essentially take to the air and attack enemies from a safe distance high above.

On the ground, however, these legs may be less useful than others. They feature 5,600 AP, 1,366 Attitude Stability, 69,800 Load Limit, 31,600 weight, and 760 EN Load. They can be purchased in the store for 313,000 COAM.

606-041 Mind Alpha

The 06-041 Mind Alpha are a set of legs developed by ALLMIND. They are an advanced piece of equipment; the bipedal counterpart to the 06-042 Mind Beta’s reverse joint style of legs. The 06-041 Mind Alpha has 4,360 AP, 794 Attitude Stability, 63,810 Load Limit, 22,110 weight, and 432 EN Load.

The 06-041 Mind Alpha legs are unlocked by achieving the third rank in the Loghunt program. These legs are an even more balanced option than the DF-LG-08 TIAN-QIANG, being lighter in weight while still offering a significant defense.

5VE-42A

The VE-42A are a set of legs developed by Arquebus ADD that excels at mobility and stability equally. They feature 5,200 AP, 877 Attitude Stability, 85,700 Load Limit, 28,950 weight, and 465 EN Load. They can be purchased for COAM 504,000.

The most notable feature of these legs is that they have the highest load limit of any bipedal legs in the game, due in part to the incorporation of hover technology in their design. Along with a unique visual flair, the legs offer unparalleled carrying capacity.

4LG-033M Verrill

The LG-033M Verrill are another of the tetrapod style of legs, developed by Balam for mobility and the ability to mount heavy weaponry. They offer 6,850 AP, 1,413 Attitude Stability, 76,200 Load Limit, 36,200 weight, and 675 EN Load. They can be unlocked in the store for 465,000 COAM.

Compared to the VP-424, they have a higher AP, lower Attitude Stability, a higher load limit, higher weight, and a lower EN Load. While tetrapod legs can tend to be underutilized compared to their more popular siblings, they should not be overlooked.

3EL-TL-11 Fortaleza

The EL-TL-11 Fortaleza are the first pair of tank-type legs on this list. Inspired by the shape language of wheelchairs, they were developed by Elcano as a lightweight option for tank-style legs, and are a popular choice.

The EL-TL-11 Fortaleza legs have 5,860 AP, 872 Attitude Stability, 69,300 Load Limit, 24,650 weight, and 620 EN Load. They can be unlocked in the store for 385,000 COAM. The EL-TL-11 Fortaleza are a consistently good option for their high boost speed, making up for what they lack in aerial maneuverability.

2VE-42B

The VE-42B legs are another tank-style option, designed by Arquebus ADD for high-spec performance and aerial combat. They have 8,600 AP, 924 Attitude Stability, 91,000 Load Limit, 46,600 weight, and 824 EN Load. They can be bought in the store for 490,000 COAM.

With a unique boat-shaped design, the VE-42B “legs”, if they can be called that, bestow the ability to hover through the air for extended periods of time. They are a best-of-the-world style option, mitigating the weaknesses that plague other tank-type legs.

1LG-022T Bornemissza

The LG-022T Bornemissza. Heavy, huge; a veritable weapons platform for all the firepower you could ever need. These legs truly embody the meaning of the word “tank.” They were designed by Balam with the sole philosophy that bigger really is sometimes better.

With 10,040 AP, a staggering 1,630 Attitude Stability, 100,300 Load Limit, 49,800 weight, and 455 EN Load, you don’t get much sturdier than this. They can be purchased for 280,000 COAM in the store. Go big or, as they say, go home.
