After working through the first world and the early sections of the Petal Isles,Super Mario Wonderpresents you with Fluff-Puff Peaks. In typical fashion forSuper MarioWonder, it presents what would be a normal world style for a Mario game and gives it a twist.

For this world, it is a version of a standard Mario snow-themed world, only the further up you get, the more it becomes a sky-themed world. After the variety in the first world, Fluff-Puff Peaks has a little more consistency, but this is compensated for with a gradual difficulty increase. So, whichstandard levels in Super MarioWonder World Two are the best?

mario wonder elephant peach pokipede pass

10Pokipede Pass

None of the levels in Fluff-Puff Peaks are bad, but one that can get a little frustrating in some sections in Pokipede Pass. The main issue with the level is the titular enemies, the Pokipedes, that add some challenge by attacking on a set path, and later on,destroying platformsif you give them enough time.

Dodging the enemies in certain areas can feel a little too tight and can end up with some unfair-feeling damage taken. The Wonder Seed transformation also lacks impact compared to the others, with the snowstorm feeling a lot less wondrous than some other offerings.

mario wonder peach up n down with puffy lifts

9Up ‘N’ Down With Puffy Lifts

Up ‘n’ Down with Puffy Lifts gives you some unique challenges, as the puffy lifts starts to slowly dwindle the longer you or any enemies stand on them. This can create some unique situations where you have to time the level of the lift to reach different areas.

The only drawback is that there is often little challenge, with the drawback for destroying a lift usually being just a minor inconvenience that then lowers the stakes somewhat. The Wonder Seed transforming your character into a puffy lift is a lot of fun though, changing the way you perceive the dangers of the level.

super mario wonder peach fluff puff peaks flying battleship

8Fluff-Puff Peaks Flying Battleship

The Flying Battleship levels are fun in a very classic Mario way that feels a bit out of sync with the rest of Super Mario Wonder, but that isn’t a particularly bad thing. These auto-scrolling levels feel like a reminder of other 2D Mario games, and are a good homage to the series roots, even if they do still feature some of the new Mario Wonder twists.

The main issue with these Battleships is that they do tend to blend together, as well as not feel in place with the worlds they show up in, and this one is no exception.

super mario wonder peach outmaway valley

7Outmaway Valley

For the first level in the world, Outmaway Valley offers a fun challenge for players. The Outmaways are a unique enemy, with their kicking action actually countering some of your attacks like thrown shells being repelled back. Their ice block attacks can easily be commandeered to reach unique locations, and getting the timing right makes for some satisfying moments.

The Wonder Seed transformation of the rolling landmass makes for a unique and quite tough challenge, but it is a shame it doesn’t involve the Outmaways much and feels a little too de-synced from the rest of the level.

super mario wonder peach jump jump jump

6Jump! Jump! Jump!

Jump! Jump! Jump! is definitely one of the more challenging levels you can come across in World Two, and can be a slightly frustrating experience, especially if you fall near the end. Jumping onto the blocks that appear and disappear increasingly faster feels like it should be a simple challenge, but with how unforgiving the timing gets, the final seconds become incredibly tense.

While some might find this level annoying and too basic, the pure satisfaction you get after a complete run with all the coins makes it stand out.

super mario wonder peach cruising with linking lifts

5Cruising With Linking Lifts

One of the later levels in Fluff-Puff peaks is Cruising with Linking Lifts, and while it has a simple premise, it is a satisfying journey to complete. Auto-rolling tracks over the sky are nothing new to Mario, and even feature a few more times in Super Mario Wonder, but this is one of the stronger iterations.

Manually increasing the size of the platform, having to dodge some enemies, and hitting others with blocks makes sure that there are no dull moments waiting for this platform to reach its destination!

super mario wonder peach condarts away

4Condarts Away!

The Condarts may seem to be quite a simple enemy at the start of Condarts Away, but the ways you interact with this aggressive enemy grow in complexity throughout the level, making it an engaging one to play through. Perfecting the timing of dodging and directing the attacks of the Condarts will ensure that you are able to get all the rewards for this level, but it will take time to get just right.

The Wonder Seed Transformation’s shifting perspective, so you walk on the walls, makes the interactions with the Condarts even more precise and makes this level a lot of fun to complete.

super mario wonder peach countdown to drop down

3Countdown To Drop Down

Similarly to Cruising with Linking Lifts, Countdown to Drop Down features an auto-moving platform that you have to dodge obstacles while you travel. This time, however, the platforms will temporarily disappear if you or an enemy jump too often.

This makes for unique and tense situations where you have to balance finding safety and kicking off enemies to make sure you reach your destination. The Wonder Seed free-fall near the end is a cathartic reward for getting past all the enemies on the platform.

super mario wonder peach pole block passage

2Pole Block Passage

Pole Block Passage has a simple enough gimmick, with the extendable poles needing to be used in time before they retract. However, it is the way the poles are used to get past obstacles and collect rewards that makes this level so satisfying. The poles are not just a platform, but can also be climbed or hung from, making the range of movement more versatile than usual.

The highlight is the free-roaming pole maze created by the Wonder Seed transformation that tasks you with getting each Wonder Coin to complete the segment.

super mario wonder fluff puff peaks palace peach

1Fluff-Puff Peaks Palace

While the castle at the end of World One felt a little forgettable, the finale to Fluff-Puff Peaks is a lot more rewarding. The difficulty of the Palace feels more scaled up throughout the world, and while it is by no means the biggest challenge in the game, it will definitely feel satisfying to complete.

The Wonder Seed transformation into the extended character and the silhouette makes the corridors of thecastle a challenge to traverse, and the final fight with Bowser Jr. is a much bigger challenge than the first. The shifting platforms that change between different textures keep you engaged and make the defeat a lot more rewarding.
