6Hailey Cooper
Hailey Cooper is a friend and ally of Miles Morales, who was first introduced in the Spider-Man: Miles Morales spin-off game. Hailey got herself a respectable fan base with her few appearances during her intro due to the character being so different and her lovely interactions with Miles.
In Spider-Man 2, you play as her and cover vandalized walls with beautifully spray-painted art. The sequence is chill and different from what these games are known for. It’s brightly colored, and they do an excellent job of illustrating Hailey’s inability to hear or speak with cute little illustrations that represent her thoughts. It’s a significant change of pace that is beautifully done.

5Mary-Jane Watson
Fans of the first game will fondly remember the moments when they played as Mary Jane during the stealth missions. You’ll be glad to learn that you may play as Mary Jane in this game again; however, things are vastly different. In the time between this game and the previous game, Mary Jane has become a capable combatant in her own right, and she is even armed with a weapon that delivers devastating blows when she moves in for takedowns.
MJ no longer has to avoid every enemy to fulfill her missions, and you can dispatch enemies systemically as you progress through an area. With Mary Jane being human without any powers and surrounded by heavily armed enemies, the stakes feel a bit higher, and the times when you play as her actually produce some of the most dramatic moments in the game.

4Young Peter Parker
In Spider-Man 2, you’re given the opportunity to play as a young, inexperienced Peter Parker, who is still getting used to his powers. These moments, as young Peter, give you an insight into the established history and lore of this universe and also give you challenges to face as a different kind of Spider-Man.

You must stealthily outmaneuver foes using only your wit and web shooters, notably without the help of distraction bots and gadgets. You get the opportunity to experience combat scenarios through an inexperienced Spider-Man with limited techniques, resources, and means to dispatch enemies quickly.
However, what is most notable about these moments where you play as young Peter is how much they contribute to the overall story of this universe’s Spider-Man, giving him and his world more substance and giving fans a deeper insight into the journey he had before they met him.

3Peter Parker Spider-Man
Peter Parker is the main character of the game and an iconic superhero that many people have grown up with and fallen in love with over the years. When you think of Spider-Man, you’re probably thinking of Peter Parker, so naturally, he’s one of the playable characters in a game named after him. His iconic red and blue suit, as well as the great storylines and side missions surrounding him and an incredible voice acting performance behind the character, make him an awesome character to take control of in any game and more so in a game where he’s the main focal point.
Everything from swinging around the city to fulfilling side quests and main missions and just interacting with the city in free-roam mode feels so much better as Peter Parker. Withhis variety of suitsinspired by his many different appearances throughout the years, you can truly immerse yourself in the role of the version of Spider-Man that you first fell in love with, whether it’s the original Insomniac Spider-Man game or one of the many iconic movies, TV show, or comic book adaptations of the character.

2Venom
Venom is easily one of the most iconic supervillains/anti-heroes in any comic book universe. The moments where you control Venom are incredible, as they give you another way to interact with the game as a superpowered being that has not been previously explored in the game so far.

As either Spider-Man, you are more precise and elegant in your fight sequences, able to dodge or redirect projectiles at the last second and dispatch enemies one at a time with precision. Whereas with Venom, you are a larger, bulkier character who approaches combat with rage and without care, tanking projectiles to the face as you move forward to dispatch your enemies ruthlessly. This game’s spin on the character is also very unique and exciting in terms of the story, and it definitely deserves its own separate game and more recognition.
1Miles Morales Spider-Man
Miles Morales is easily the best playable character in the game. The character himself is relatively new in the superhero world but has already garnered a solid fan base with extraordinary adaptations in movies, comic books, and video games. Aside from all the joys of being Spider-Man, Miles also has access to some of themost incredible-looking suitsand most impressive gadgets in the game. His playstyle also slightly differs from Peter Parker’s, as he has a few extra powers, like invisibility and electricity powers. These powers give you a variety of ways to approach combat.
Miles’ powers are also far more vibrant, complex, and flashier than any other superpowered playable character in the game. The stories surrounding him are also some of the best, and he has some really cool side quests, which is a fantastic opportunity to showcase his epic powers and style. Not to mention the fact that he headlined the last installment in the seriesSpider-Man Miles Morales, meaning his style, look, and powers are probably freshest in your memory if you’ve been playing the games in the order they launched.
