While many don’t know what happened to the vast number of them, what is known is that a small circle leads what still remains. The Chorus is made up of five Gods, which are the same people Grace must win over to save her life. Depending on your choices, you might change how you feel about them, but overall, a few deserve top billing.

5Athena

No one who has played this game is surprised to see her at the bottom of the list. There is just a cold and rigid feeling that comes from her. Even when you want to be more understanding of where she is coming from, like living for centuries, it’s hard to like her.

Take, for example, the cookies. Yes, she has them, and yes, she offered them, but for a split second, did it cross your mind that they might be poisoned? And that’s all from the first time you meet her. Forgetting everything else that happens later on, including the role she playsregarding Medusa’s fate, Athena just comes off like a pristine snob.

4Apollo

He has the whole surfer, go-with-the-flow thing going for him, which gives him some bonus points, but overall he can be exhausting. Even though it is understandable why he is the way he is, it’s hard sometimes when he constantly flips between helping and not helping.

He is also great for providing vital information that progresses the story and game, but when youchoose between him and Persephone, who are you going with? Apollo is, at times, the literal fly on the wall. Seriously, during points of the game, you may see him leaning against the wall just watching as everything happens around him.

3Aphrodite

It doesn’t help that a big chunk of the story is set up to make you love Aphrodite, but in reality, it makes sense when you realize that she is one of the most portrayed goddesses in Greek mythology. She is a strong character, you have to be to go through what she did, but at the same time, a lot of who she is seems hidden by the veil of mystery.

Aphrodite welcomes everyone to her Ritual

This is one of the characters many have stated they wished they could have seen more of during the game. Unlike a few of the Gods constantly around, Aphrodite is only seen with other characters, likeat her party. However, that just goes to show how powerful the small bits of time you do have with her.

2Calliope

Calliope is that one character that always seems to be around but actually isn’t. There is something from the first moment you meet her that strikes a beautiful chord in your heart. It could be her style, the way she comes in to help support Grace, or how there is a feeling that she really just cares for everyone around her.

A good first step to writing a murder mystery is to get people invested in solving the crime, which is perfectly done in Stray Gods.

1Persephone

Was there any doubt that the former Queen of Hell would be sitting pretty as the highest-ranked God? Even if you choose Apollo, there is something about Persephone that will be pulling you back. The first being the way they styled the character is mesmerizing overall.

Then add on the edgy attitude, the snarky quips, and maybe the excitement of testing fate. All the small things that make them stand out are the exact reasons why you might fall in love with them toward the end.
