While video games are filled with plenty of unique creatures, only a few go the extra mile by having some of the smallest creatures around. These creatures are often some of the cutest, but that doesn’t mean that small creatures can’t come with a bit of horror as well.

The smallest of creatures tend to be fairly prevalent little beings when it comes to the plot of games. In many instances, without these small creatures, there would be no way for you to make it to the end of whatever game they’re found in. With that said, here are some of the smallest creatures you’ll find in any game.
10Slimes
The Slimes from theDragon Questseries might just be one of the oldest and still ongoing video game enemies in existence. Their simple design, complete with an adorable face, makes them instantly recognizable despite their tiny stature.
It’s not hard to see why a low-level Slime would be so small. You need something small to start out walloping at the beginning of games. Of course, there are bigger Slimes out there, but the base slime has become an icon of the series, and for good reason.

9Pikmin
These little creatures truly are something special. While you make your way through the simple little strategy puzzle series that isPikmin, you’ll come into contact with more than a handful of the tiny titular creatures.
They are the key tothe entire Pikmin series, making achieving your goals possible through their teamwork. You will guide them throughout the games, but that doesn’t keep them from being some of the best little companions anyone could have.

8Spore
This one is a bit of a cheat because your Spore creature will eventually grow and evolve into something so much more, but for a while, it’s literally a micro-organism. That potentially makes your creatures in Spore some of the tiniest creatures ever in gaming.

It’s a ton of fun to start as tiny organisms and slowly grow as you move up the food chain. This is made even better by the fact that you may customize the creatures yourself, making them unique to each and every playthrough.
7The Minish
There are plenty of creatures of all shapes and sizes in theZeldaseries, but the absolute smallest has to be the microscopic Minish. These tiny beings play a massive role in thecriminally underrated handheld game The Minish Cap.
Link shrinks down to their size to tackle a whole host of unique problems, making even the most basic of enemies into vicious bosses. They’re secretive, but they’re so fascinating that many people have been calling for their return to the series for years.

6Mushroom Men
Just by the nature of mushrooms usually being quite small, it only makes sense that the Mushroom Menfrom the Nintendo Wii gameof the same name would be tiny. Somehow, the little characters are adorably hilarious, considering they are constantly at war.
Various other fauna do come to life in the Mushroom Men game, but it’s the titular characters that stand out the most, considering you play as them. Pac is just doing his best as a living mushroom as the world falls apart, and for most people, that’s going to be enough.

5Headcrabs
The Headcrabs from theHalf-Lifeseries might be small, but they are utterly terrifying. All it takes is one misstep, and anyone who finds themselves in the path of a Headcrab will be about to meet a very sudden end.
These little aliens are, surprisingly enough, about the size of a pumpkin, meaning they aren’t incredibly tiny, but they do still act as a major threat. Being a fairly standard enemy, they aren’t dangerous to you, the player, but pretty much anyone who has picked up Half-Life will remember them.

4Lemmings
The adorable titular creatures of Lemmings have to be one of the smallest beings in any video game. Throughout the puzzle game, it’s your job to get the various creatures to the exit of each and every level to progress.
Considering a lemming in the real world is a small rodent of a creature, it’s probably fair to include those little creatures on this list. They may be forgotten by some today, but you might remember what Lemmings did for the puzzle genre as a whole.

3Koroks
Whether you love or despise them and their golden poop-gifting ways, the Koroks are some of the best tiny creatures out there. If you’ve playedBreath Of The WildorTears Of The Kingdom, you’ll be incredibly familiar with their plights.

The tiny little spirits of the forest are all over the place, just waiting to be found or helped by you. You will just get a simple point toward a future inventory upgrade, but in a game where weapons can crumble fast, that makes the Koroks incredible.
2Flabebe
This cute little flower creature might just be one of the smallestPokemonin existence. The always-female Pokemon is the first of its evolutionary line, and while it may grow as it evolves, its base form might just be the best for you.
The simple Fairy-Type Pokemonisn’t going to be winning you any major tournaments, but it can be a fun addition to any team. Pikachu might be the most famous, but Flabebe is a lot smaller than that large mouse by a long shot.

1Kirby
Even if you somehow haven’t played any of theKirbygames, you probably still think Kirby is one of those adorable small creatures, and you may not even know why. Maybe it’s the tiny pink puffball form that Kirby has, or maybe it’s the fact that the little guy can obliterate anything instantly.
With his mighty copy ability, Kirby can take on just about any foe despite being one of the smallest creatures around. He is surrounded by other smaller creatures from time to time, but he might just be one of the most famous small heroes of all time.
