Summary
With how similarThe Texas Chain Saw MassacreandDead By Daylightare, it only makes sense that some people would begin to wonder which game is better. Both games offer you similar horrific experiences, but one has the advantage of being out far longer than the other, though whether or not that matters is up to each individual.

There are a lot of draws to both games, especially for fans of classic horror. Suppose you want a game that lets you play as some of your favorite horror killers; both are great choices. If all you’re looking for is to be terrified and stressed out while you struggle to survive and escape from horrific killers, well, that’s where one game might end up being better than the other.
First, and most obviously, you will get a lot more variation in Dead By Daylight. Since the game was first released back in 2016, it only makes sense that Dead By Daylight would have a lot more content, and a large part of that is the various DLC packs that have added dozens of characters and maps.

You can argue about how different the map design feels and how different the various characters really feel from one another. Still, at the very least, there is a lot of variation from a visual standpoint. This is in major contrast to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre being themed around a singular series that only allows for a certain set of killers, survivors, and maps to play.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre - A Singular Focus
Something that will be seen either as a good thing or a bad thing is thatThe Texas Chain Saw Massacre has a single focuson the titular franchise. Rather than implementing other horror series and killers, the gameplay, maps, and atmosphere can all be perfected over time to give players a dedicated kind of experience.

Dead By Daylight gives the player a lot of variation, something that, again, will be seen as a negative and a positive. When you boot up The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, you know exactly what you are in for and what to expect, something that can’t necessarily be said for Dead By Daylight.
While the base roster of characters, killers, and even some of the additional DLC are all original to Dead By Daylight, the game did eventually get some incredible DLC packs. At this point, you may play famous characters from the Halloween, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Saw, and Scream series, among many others.

you may even play as Leatherface in Dead By Daylight if you want to, making the game the one to pickif you’re looking for sheer horror killer content. Texas Chainsaw Massacre has some iconic characters from the series, but the Sawyer Family only extends so far, making it a choice for only the most dedicated fans of that series.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre - Greater Emphasis On Teamwork
While Dead By Daylight certainly does involve teamwork, it could be said that there needs to be a significantly greater use of it to succeed in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Rather than going up against a single killer, you’re forced to work with three other players to survive and escape fromthree members of the horrendous Sawyer Family.
The fact that you’re hunted by three players on what can often feel like claustrophobic maps while also having minimal ways to defend yourself means you have to work as a team to succeed. There’s just so much going against the victims in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre that it’s hard to imagine anyone managing to get a win without tip-toeing around with a friend.

It’s a bit of a cliché to say that a game makes you feel like something, but if you want to feel like you’re really in the shoes of your favorite horror villain, Dead By Daylight is the easy choice. The different powers that each killer has will have you recreating moments from their series by complete accident in the best way possible.
While The Texas Chainsaw Massacre puts you in the shoes of the various Sawyer Family members, many of them fail to stand out if you aren’t a major fan of the series. You don’t just have one icon to choose from in Dead By Daylight, you have ten.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre - A Tenser Experience
This isn’t to say that Dead By Daylight isn’t a tense experience. The game oozes atmosphere and can be one of the best horror experiences on any console. The fact of the matter is that when The Texas Chain Saw Massacre functions the way it’s supposed to, it’s one of the most sweat-inducing experiences in gaming history.

The fact that you’re constantly at risk of dying without running into a killer is already a major complication. Add inhaving to sneak around and let Leatherface walk right past youwith a revved chain saw is all the more terrifying, and then the constant threat of being spotted thanks to Grandpa just makes the whole experience one that will have your heart pounding from start to bloody finish.
While every location in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will feel like familiar locations from the films, Dead By Daylight throws some ofthe most iconic horror locationsever put to screen at you. Thanks to all the content from various horror series, you can play across a huge series of maps.

You’ll be able to visit Raccoon City, Silent Hill, Springwood, Haddonfield, and so many other great locations. While each map has its own issues, the ability to run away from a killer in them makes the game a must-play for anyone who loves horror.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre - A Slower Pace
You certainly can play Dead By Daylight at a slower pace, but thanks to the way the game works, it’s not necessarily the best route. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre forces you to take your time at every turn or risk having a group of killers suddenly turn up at your location to cut you down.
You are constantly at the mercy of the vile killers hunting you, so you need to tip-toe around, hide behind anything you can, and hope no one can spot you as they lumber right by you. The game even begs you to stop moving every time Grandpa is activated; otherwise, your attempt at escape will end far sooner than you’d like it to.

Most of this comes down to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre being a much newer game than Dead By Daylight and deciding to keep its attention on a single horror series. You get similar gameplay from both games, and Texas Chain Saw Massacre might even be preferred by some, but that’s as long as the game is functioning the way it is intended to and not having any issues with its online play.
Dead By Daylight provides you with the ultimate horror experience, regardless of which major franchise you’re a fan of. There’s something here for every horror fan, and while the game lacks a stereotypical creature-based killer from a famous franchise, that’s not to say that something won’t be added to the game at some point for those fans. Both games are great picks, but Dead By Daylight’s content and easy-to-pick-up gameplay make it the superior title, at least for now.
