Despite the main objective of winning football games hasn’t changed throughout the years, the complexity of Madden has grown. With so many new techniques and styles to achieve greatness on the gridiron, we’ve compiled the best beginner tips to help you on your quest for success in Madden 24.
Game Style
One of the most important game options to select is the style. There arethree game stylesto choose from: Arcade, Simulation, and Competitive.
No fatigue.
Simulation
Authentic NFL style that plays true to player and team ratings.
Dampended fatigue.
Only player-controlled penalties.
If you’re looking for thetraditional Madden experience, then Simulation is the way to go. However, theArcade game style provides more electrifying playsfor a more thrilling experience, while Competitive will train you for possible online matches in the future.
Weather
It might seem like an afterthought, but the weather forecast can drastically impact a football game. Sunny and clear skies will have offenses humming but rainy or windy weather will have them in shambles. Quick Play gives you the option to select fromseven different weather typesor you can randomize it.
In rainy, windy, and snowy weather, quarterbacks might have atough time throwing the ball accurately. The weather can also impact a receiver’s ability to catch the football, meaning an offense will have to rely on their ground game. Defenses won’t be impacted as much as offenses but cornerbacks and safeties might slip in the secondary in rain or snow.

Pass Styles
Madden 24 gives you the flexibility to adjust the way you pass the football. There arethree different passing stylesthat will impact quarterbacks.
For a more traditional Madden experience, stick to theClassicpassing style. In this style, you’ll use the simple passing mechanics ofpressing the corresponding button for a receiverto throw the ball. If youhold the button, the quarterback will throw abullet passwhile a quick tap will be alob pass.

The two Placement passing styles require a bit more precision. When you select a receiver to throw the ball, there will be a quicktimer over their headsthat will act as the accuracy gauge. For Placement + Accuracy, the timer willdictate both accuracy and power, while Placement + Power willonly control the placement and power, and the accuracy will automatically be assessed based on how accurate your quarterback is.
Game Planning
Before jumping into a Quick Play game, you can select a specific offensive and defensive game plan to deploy. There aresix different offensive and defensivegame plans to have your team focus on.
Defend Deep Pass
Contain QB Scramble
Selecting the offensive and defensive focuses won’t restrict you from choosing other types of plays in the game but thecoach’s suggestive plays will be tailored to what you focus on. If you choose Throw It Deep, you’ll see a majority of deep passes on offense. If you choose Defend Inside Run, you’ll see a majority of blitzes or a heavy focus on stacking the defensive line.
Even though you’ll still be able to call any play during the game, it is important to take these selections seriously. Moreso on defense, this will help you learn more about the offensive tendencies that opposing teams might deploy. Executing plays is important but don’t overestimate selecting the correct plays.

Play Preseason In Superstar Mode
Superstar mode is the start of your personal journey in the NFL. After creating a custom player, you’ll participate in the NFL Combine and complete drills and an interviewto determine what team selects you in the draft. Following the draft, the preseason will begin but you’ll have the option to simulate straight to the regular season.
While it might be tempting to bypass games that don’t matter, playing the preseason is a great way to learn the tempo of Superstar mode andcash in on easy rewards. If you skip ahead to the regular season, you’ll lose out on those rewards and your Superstar player will have a lower rating to start the season.

Franchise Roles
One of the most played game modes in Madden is Franchise. The main objective in Franchise mode is hoisting the Lombardi Trophy at the season’s end but you can choose betweentwo different roles.
Player: Choose to be a player and build your legacy on your way to the Hall of Fame.

Earn XP and Upgrade Ratings.
Manage and Coach the Team.

Rebuild your stadium or relocate.
Set prices for everything you sell.
Get feedback from your advisers
Choosing Player will relieve you of the stress that comes with building the team and dealing with fan experience butyou won’t have control over how theteam is constructed. Your main goal will be performing on the field in a similar sense as Superstar.
Try to download a community draft class and not the auto-generated class of Madden rookies. The Madden community willcreate a class that’s as close to the real-life college playerson the cusp of reaching the NFL for the most authentic Franchise experience.
Owners willreflect the traditional Madden Franchise experienceand you’ll be able to control everything from scouting future draft picks to setting a season goal. Each week, you’ll have the opportunity to practice specific plays to prepare for the offensive and defensive tendencies of the upcoming matchup. These game plans will affect the suggestive plays in the game and help you achieve your weekly game goals to upgrade your coaching staff.
