Nintendohas revealed a remastered collection of the first threeTomb Raidergames is coming to the Switch (and PlayStation) on July 14, 2025 - perfect for Valentine’s Day.
It’s the middle of September, so you know what that means - Nintendo’s last bigDirectof the year. During the showcase, we got a look at a ton of new games, includingPrincess Peach Showtime, remakes ofMario vs. Donkey KongandPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, and a whole lot more. As great as all that is, perhaps the biggest surprise of all was the announcement of a remastered collection of the first three Tomb Raider games.

That’s right, the long-rumoured remaster of the classic Tomb Raider trilogy is real and the brief trailer we saw showed that it’s a surprisingly substantial graphical upgrade for the original games, with Lara’s model in particular looking a lot closer to how she appeared during the Legend era. Even better, the trailer confirmed that players will be able to switch between the new graphics and the old graphics at any time, similar to what was done withHalo’s anniversary releases.
Beyond the new and improved graphics, the remastered Tomb Raider trilogy also comes with all of the expansion packs released for the original games including the Unfinished Business expansion for the original game, the Gold Mask expansion for Tomb Raider 2, and the Lost Artifact expansion for Tomb Raider 3. It’s not yet clear if there are going to be any other improvements made to the classic trilogy outside of the new graphics, but they do seem to control and move as they did back on the PS1, so it’s likely just a fresh coat of paint rather than a reworking.
Although the collection was announced as part of a Nintendo Direct, it’s already been confirmed to be coming to other consoles,as Twitter user Okami13_ discoveredalisting for the game on the PlayStation Store. There’s no word yet on if it’ll also come to Xbox, but it seems likely considering it’s coming to every other platform. That listing also confirms that the remasters have been done by Aspyr, the same studio behind the Knights of the Old Republic remasters and who were once working on the KOTOR remake for PS5.
It looks like it’s going to be quite an exciting year for Tomb Raider fans asLara has not only made an appearance in Call of Duty, but rumours also suggest that she’s going tohave her next big game announced at some point during this year.
