A newTomb Raidergame could be announced soon, as the official website updates to tell players to be on the lookout for “breaking news”. This comes over a year sinceapparent details on a new game were leaked, claiming that the next instalment was in development and would focus on a team of raiders.

This latest development was first spotted by Twitter user and Lara Croft fan @thetreeble, then shared by Tomb Raider News. It follows on from a further rumour earlier this year that the new game would be revealed in 2023, so we might get the reveal sooner rather than later.
The updated page asks fans if they’re “ready to become a Tomb Raider.” Maybe we’re reading too much into it - but this could be hinting that the rumours about a game with multiple raiders are true. This would be quite the departure, giving Lara a team to work with.
Adding legitimacy to the rumours, the claim that the new game will be revealed this year came fromnoteworthy leaker Miller Ross. He was the go-to source forMarvel’s Avengersnews and leaks when it was in its heyday, so it stands to reason that he has a fair idea of what’s going on behind the scenes at Crystal Dynamics right now.
The next gaming industry showcase is just next week, with Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 22. This would be a great opportunity for a new Tomb Raider to be announced, but it might be too soon, as these site changes appear to be recent.
