Despite complaints about the lack of difficulty inPokemontitles, most titles' endgames provide sufficient challenges, as well as the means to farm finely-honed Pokemon. One set of the many items that play into this is the various charms that you may acquire.

These are key items that offer many utilities, like eggs hatching faster or shiny Pokemon appearing more frequently. In the Teal Mask, a new charm by the name of the Glimmering Charm was added. In this guide, we’ll show you exactly how to get it and what it does.

How To Get The Glimmering Charm

Like many of the other charms in the series, the Glimmering Charm is acquired as a pseudo-postgame item. To obtain it, you mustcomplete the Kitakami Pokedex.

The Kitakami Pokedex has exactly 200 entries, half of what the main game has. However, around 100 of these entries are shared with the regular Paldean Pokedex, easing the burden immensely.

Even though many of the Pokemon in the Kitakami Pokedex are also in the Paldean Pokedex, it is not required to complete the latter to get the reward from the former.

Tips For Completing The Kitakami Pokedex

Though 200 Pokemon may seem daunting, it’s only half of the main game’s Pokedex, making it much easier to fill out. Here are some tips to get you to that Glimmering Charm faster.

Complete The Paldean Pokedex

This might sound like it’s more work, but consideringaround 100 of Kitakami’s 200 Pokemon are shared, having the Paldean Pokedex completed first gives you a massive headstart.

Transfer Pokemon From Pokemon Home

While you could go ahead and try to capture and evolve your way to filling out the Pokedex,if you’ve played previous games, then Pokemon Home is your ally here.

It will let you fill out the pages with ease and maybe evensave you from having to trade for version-exclusive Pokemon.

Stock Up On Quick Balls

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet give you plenty of Pokeballs to help you catch Pokemon, but as you get further through the game, you may end up relying on more specific balls.

In Kitakami, considering how easy some of the Pokemon are to catch,it will save you a lot of time just chucking a Quick Ball, as most Pokemon in Kitakami will be captured with them no matter your level.

Catch A Johtonian Wooper And White-Striped Basculin

You might be scratching your head on those last few entries, wondering why your Pokedex isn’t quite filled, when the most likely reason is that theregular Wooper is counted as a separate Pokemonfrom the Paldean Wooper. The same is true forthe White-Striped Basculin, likely because it is the only Basculin form that can evolve into Basculegion.

Johtonian Wooper can be found in the rice paddiesjust outside Mossui Village, whileWhite-Striped Basculin can be found in the lake at the Timeless Woods.
