Pacey Protector Evolution, Explained
For all Evolution objectives, there are set parameters to stop you from upgrading Van Dijk into even more of a defensive beast.
For the Pacey Protector Evolution, your centre back needs to havea maximum of 80 Overall, 65 Pace, 75 Passing, 84 Defending, and 84 Physicality.
As a reward, your player willgain +2 Overall, +6 Passing, +3 Defending, +5 Physicality, and, crucially, +15 Pace. Your best bet, therefore, is topick players who are already good defensivelybut aren’t too fast.
How To Upgrade The Pacey Protector Evolution
There are two stages to the Pacey Protector Evolution, both of which are pretty simple to achieve. Make sure your centre back is set as your active Evolution, and then jump into Squad Battles, Rivals, or FUT Champions to level it up.
Best Centre Back For Pacey Protector Evolution
Joel Matip
Joel Matip is the perfect man for the Pacey Protector upgrade. If there’sone area he’s lacking, it’s Pace, arguably the most important stat in FIFA.
Hisdefensive stats are pretty good, and a serious boost of speed is exactly what he needs to compete for the opening months of the game.
Giorgio Chiellini
One of Italy’s greatest ever centre backs, spoken of in the same breath as the likes of Maldini and Nesta, Giorgio Chiellini is playing out his retirement in the MLS.
His positioning and defending remain stellar, making him ripe for the Pacey Protector boost. However, he’s a little harder to link than Matip, so he’s second on our list. If you’re making an MLS team, however, he should be first in line.
There are other options out there for the Pacey Protector, just look for those centre backs with low Pace and high Defending.
Watch out if you’re looking at women’s teams though, as even the highest rated women’s centre backs are much shorter than their male counterparts, which can cause problems when dealing with crosses.
