Picking one of these products doesn’t have to be a fixed moment in time, so here’s everything you need to know about everything coming in Universes Beyond: Doctor Who.
Commander Decks
Since Universes Beyond: Doctor Who isn’t a full Magic: The Gathering release, there is less product than other sets, but each deck contains more unique cards than a regular expansion would have.
Each Doctor Who Commander deck has 50 original cards, all designed to keep characters and events from the show in mind with their mechanics. There are also more keywords and abilities than generally found in a regular release, with cards having everything from soulbound to cascade, suspend, myriad, and even retrace.

Magic: The Gathering Doctor Who Commander Deck - Masters of Evil
Gathering the most villianous forces in the universe in once place, the Masters of Evil deck takes the combined might of the Cybermen, Daleks, evil Time Lords and more and unleashes them on your foes. This deck provides plenty of unique legendary creatures to get your deck brewing skills going.
Uniting the many villains that the Doctor and his companions have amassed over the years, the Masters of Evil deck is a blue, black, and red deck themed around artifacts, myriad, and a new mechanic called villainous choice. The deck is affectionately described as a ‘group slug’ deck, the opposite of a group hug deck where all players are presented with situations where they either have to make a bad decision for themselves, or a good decision for you.

This deck is jam packed with legendary creatures and alternate three colored commanders to build around. The main commander is Davros, Dalek Creator, and can be swapped out between Missy and Ashad, the Lone Cyberman if you want. There are some amazing legendary creatures to pick up with this deck, with lots of support for unique decks to be built.

Also joining the Doctors are many of the companions like Sarah Jane Smith, Barbara Wright, and K-9, Mark I. One of the more interesting aspects of the deck, and the Universes Beyond set as a whole, is that each Saga is named after an iconic episode from the series.
Magic: The Gathering Doctor Who Commander Deck – Timey-Wimey
Become a true Time Lord with the Timey-Wimey deck designed around the adventures and antics of the Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Doctors, as well as the tragic War Doctor. Much of the deck is designed around suspend and time counters, which requires a little bit of extra attention to ensure you’re tracking all the triggers.
Time is nothing to a Time Lord and with the Timey-Wimey deck, you can take The Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Doctors through their adventures in time and space. This blue, red, and white deck is focused on becoming the master of time itself by focusing on cards with suspend and vanishing.

There are tons of great cards to be found in this deck, with companions like Amy Pond and Rory Williams, both of which partner with each other, and Rose Tyler, the main partner of the deck, who all work to add extra value to your suspended cards. The Timey-Wimey deck also comes with the incredibly powerful Everybody Lives! card, which protects you and all players from practically everything that could happen in a game.
Magic: The Gathering Doctor Who Commander Deck – Paradox Power
Taking inspiration from the two most recent Doctors from the show, the Paradox Power follows The Twelfth and Thirteenth Doctors. The deck introduces a new paradox mechanic which rewards you for casting spells from places other than your hand.
Following just two Doctors this time, the Paradox Power deck is a green, blue, and red deck built around the Twelfth and Thirteenth Doctors. The deck introduces another new mechanic for the Universes Beyond: Doctor Who, paradox, which triggers whenever you cast a spell from a zone that’s not your hand. Exile, the graveyard, even the Command Zone all trigger the paradox ability.

The deck also focuses on plenty of cascade, flashback, and retrace effects to give you extra value from your spells. Joining The Twelfth and Thirteenth Doctors are a number of notable cards and characters like Clara Oswald, an immensely versatile card that can be your partner commander for your Doctor deck, and can be any color you want to add to your deck. River Song is another fantastic addition to the game, letting you draw cards from the bottom of your deck instead of from the top.
