InLords Of The Fallen, the challenge is undeniable. You’ll face it both while exploring various areas and when confronting strong bosses. Just one untimely death can force you to make a mad dash to recover your Vigor or attempt the boss once more. Thankfully, this is where Vestiges come to your aid.

Typically, you’ll find these at the beginning of new areas. If you happen to forget to open a shortcut, you’ll be faced with a long trek back. That’s precisely why the game includes Vestige Seedlings as an alternative to help you out.

How To Grow Vestige Seedlings

Vestige Seedlingswill become your best friend during the game asthey function just like regular Vestigesbut come with a twist;you can’t plant them anywhere you like. Instead, you must locate specific spots within the game known asUmbral Flowerbeds.

If you want to recognize these spots, it can be done in two main ways:

An arrow showing where the Umbral Flower is, and the circle showing the special effect from the Umbral Lamp when near an Umbral Flowerbed Lords of the Fallen

Once you’re close to an Umbral Flowerbed, you can use yourUmbral Lampto interact with it.

The process is straightforward:hold your lamp with R2 or LT, and then press and hold Triangle or Y, depending on your platform. For PC players, just switch to your lamp andhold Ctrl and F to grow a Vestige Seedling.

While this sounds good and easy, here’s the catch:you’ll need a special item called Vestige Seeds to make this happen.

These items are oftendropped by bosses, but you may also find themas rare drops from regular enemies.

At the cost of one Vestige Seed, you will be able to growone Vestige Seedling.

When you interact with a Vestige Seedling, you’ll encounter the same options available when interacting with a regular Vestige.

Firstly, it becomesyour new revival point, sparing you from arduous runs. Moreover, you canlevel up your characterhere, teleport to other Vestiges, and evenaccess the multiplayer options.

It’s worth noting thatyou can have only one Vestige Seedling at a time. This means that if you come across a new Umbral Flowerbed and decide to grow another Vestige Seedling, the first one will be replaced to make room for the new one.
