One of the more unique mechanics inMoonstone Islandis the method by which you gather specific resources. Unlike other farming sims, you will only be able to pick some items by taking care of the spirits you collect. When properly cared for, spirits will drop resources for you to gather for crafting, quests, and unlocking locations.

Different spirit types will produce different resources. This will be made clear when completing the “Spirit Research: Spirit Poop” quest. Early on, capturing an earth-type spirit for your spirit barn will be vastly important, as it is the only known method for collecting clay on Moonstone Island.

How To Collect Clay

Clay isa resource that cannot be found naturallyin the world or grown on your farm. Instead, you will need tocollect clay from earth spirits within your Spirit Barn.

To meet the requirements necessary for clay production, you willneed tocomplete the ‘Taming Spirits 101’ quest,craft aSpirit Barn, and of course, anEarth-type Spirit.

How To Craft A Spirit Barn

Check your mail the day after you complete the ‘Taming Spirits 101’ quest, and you will receive a letter from Zedcontaining crafting recipes for your Moonstone Enchanter, including theSpirit Barn recipe.

TheSpirit Barn crafting reciperequires:

Once you have the necessary materials, open yourMoonstone Enchanter and select the Spirit Barn.

If you do not have access to the Moonstone Enchanter,you will need to complete the ‘Craft a New Broom’ questto learn the crafting recipe.

Place your spirit barn wherever you like, and walk inside.You will notice one empty stall for food placementand an otherwise fairly empty space.

How To Generate Clay

Once inside your spirit barn,add food to the empty stall.Enter your medallionand tell the earth spirit of your choosingto stay in the Spirit Barn.

Keep your spirit fed every day to successfully maintain their happiness, and every so often,your spirit will produce the resource that corresponds to their type. When your earth spirit drops Clay, simplywalk up to the item and pick it up.

What Clay Is Used For

Clay’s two primary uses are for crafting items such as pots for your decorative plants andto unlock the Spring Temple. This temple islocated at the west of your starting island and will require several keys to gain accessto the mysteries that lie ahead, with Clay being one of the more unique keys.
