Space Combat is one of the essential parts ofStarfield, and you’ll find yourself involved in one regardless of what you’re doing. All types of quests have an element of Space Combat and you can also find a bunch of random hostile groups while exploring the humongous world in the game.

As you fight these groups, you’ll be attacked from different directions and commonly lose your ship’s shield, which leads to them dealing damage directly to your Hull. You need Ship Parts if you want to repair this Hull on the go and prevent getting destroyed, and here’s how you’re able to get them.

Through Space Combat Itself

Of course, one of the best ways to get the Parts to repair your ship is by going through the process that destroys it in the first place. During Space Combat, you’ll be fighting various ships with their own shield and Hull bars. Once you deplete both of these bars, they’ll get destroyed and leave their Cargo behind.

You can then get within a 500-meter range of this Cargo and target it by pressing the same button you use to target a certain ship, which will then let you look at its content. You’ll commonly find one or more Ship Parts here, and these Parts will directly go into your inventory once you claim them.

Looking For Certain Vendors

The first way of getting Ship Parts mentioned above is completely free, but your ship might not always be in the condition to take on a fight. You also have to getlucky with the enemy ship’s Cargo since there is a chance of Ship Parts not being there. For those instances, you can look for certain vendors and spend some Credits to buy these parts.

The best vendors where Ship Parts are common are the various Outfitters in different cities. This can stilldepend on your own game since the vendor inventories are procedurally generated. Keep in mind that you’ll find Ship Parts in the “Aid” category. You can look for any vendor who has Aid items to find them.
