If you’re not keen on emptying your pockets for the toxin and would rather craft it yourself, you’ll have the option to once you find this toxin’s recipe and unique ingredients. But first, you’ll need to head over to the Waning Moon within the Shadow-Cursed Lands.
Where To Find The Purple Worm Toxin Recipe
The recipe for Purple Worm Toxin can only be foundin the Waning Moon behind the metal vault doorguarded by Thisobald Thorm. Unless you plan to stealth while Invisible and pickpocket the key off of him, you’ll need todefeat Thisobald first.
With the key in hand,open the doorto the area behind the distillery.

To receive the recipe, you’ll need topass a DC14 Investigation checkto make it out through a purple stain. If it doesn’t work with one character, you can pass it to another to try again.

Upon a success, the recipe will be added to your learned recipes. However, you’ll needone key ingredientyou cannot normally find in a playthrough up till this point:Corpse Rose Petals.
Where To Find Corpse Rose Petals: Thisobald’s Shipment
After successfully reading the notes at the Waning Moon, you can nowtravel to the marked locationon your map. It should lead to a place marked as the"Brewer’s Alchemical Stash."
The fastest way to reach it is by running from theRoad To Baldur’s Gate waypointand travelingnorth to the abandoned barn.

On theright side of the barnand behind a haystack, you’ll need topass a passive Survival rollto find aspot you can dig.You willneed a shovelfor this.
Dig up the treasure chestwithin to receive a single Corpse Rose and become one step closer to concocting the Purple Worm Toxin. Youneed three Corpse Rosesto make the toxin.

To get the rest, you cancheck the caskets within the Morgue(west of the House of Healing) to loot for Corpse Roses, though this appears to be based on RNG. Good luck hunting!
If you struggle with finding enough Corpse Roses and sincerely want Purple Worm Toxin, you can alsobuy or loot the toxin from Sister Lidwin, the merchant assistant in the House of Healing.
