Luckily, if one of your villagers wants a Cantankerous Koi, you’ll be able to gain some reputation even if you just started playing. These fish are beginner-friendly catches that you should find rather easy to stockpile!
Where To Find Cantankerous Koi
Cantankerous Koiare dark blue fish that can be found in ponds. If you’re not very familiar with Palia yet, the easiest place to find them is byfishing right on the pond at your home. There’s alsoa pond by the Daiya farm, near Auni’s treehouse.
Look for Leafhopper Hills on the map, and the pond is to the west.
The third option is tofish at the Mirror Pond Ruins. Between those three locations, you should be able to find one near you.
How To Reel In Cantankerous Koi
You cancatch a Cantankerous Koi with any type of fishing rod, including the basic one you get as a beginner in the game. The beginner rod is known as the Makeshift Rod, and youdon’t need to worry about using baitof any kind.
To verify you aren’t using any bait,equip the fishing rodand make sure there’sno picture of a wormunderneath the fishing pole icon. To be safe, you canright-click and then select the bare fishhook.
When To Catch Cantankerous Koi
Cantankerous Koi can be caught day or night, but you may need to fish for a little while before you get one.
Make sure to eat food before you fish so that you’ll be leveling up your fishing skill more efficiently while you’re trying to get a Cantankerous Koi.
