While playingStarfield, the one type of item you’ll always be overwhelmed with is the resources. You can find resources in both raw and processed form where they’re combined to make other items like Adaptive Frame. Raw resources can be found on various planets, while processed resources can only be salvaged or bought.

Thankfully, Tantalum is one of the raw resources that’s mostly used for making suppressive mods for your weapons. This will be extremely important if you’re planning to do stealth missions like the Ryujin Faction series, but Tantalum can be quite a rare resource to come by.
Finding Planets Or Moons With Tantalum
The most basic way of getting Tantalum in Starfield is by looking for it onvarious planets in different star systems. Whenever you get into a certain star system, you’re able to look at the resources forevery planet or moon inside it by simply clicking on them. If it still says that the Scan is unavailable, then you can try teleporting to the area as well.
Once you locate a surface with Tantalum, you can simplyland anywhere on the planet or moon and start looking for the oreon different rocks. Since Tantalum is one of the two-star resources, you won’t be able to find areas where it’s common by scanning the surface from the map.

You can still find Tantalum oreanywhere on the planetas long as it’s a part of it.
The easiest place to find a ton of Tantalum during the early game is theTau Ceti VI-A moon found in the Tau Ceti star system. This system can be found on the far left side of the map.

Buying It From Tantalum Vendors
If you’re tired of running around a planet’s surface to look for random Tantalum Ore,you can also try to buy it from various vendors across the star system. Keep in mind that this resource can be a little costly since it’s one of the rare ores. Moreover, you might not find it on every vendor with the resource tab in their inventory.
The best way to find a vendor with Tantalum is by heading over to various mining businesses like the Mining League in Neon. You’ll beable to get over 20 of this ore from the vendors, and you can always just rest on a chair nearby and wait for 24 in-game hours to refresh their stock.

Placing A Tantalum Extractor
Finally, the endgame goal of Starfield is to have Extractors for every resource you needso that you can farm a ton of it without worrying too much. The Tantalum Extractor can be placed right on top of one of the Tantalum veins that can be located on a planet’s surface using the Scanner Mode. Keep in mind that you’ll only find these in areas where Tantalum exists.
Once you’ve located a vein, simply place an Outpost nearby followed by theTantalum Extractor in the Extractor section of the Build Menu. You’ll need the following items to build this Extractor:
After placing the Extractor, you’ll have to supply it with at least five points of Power, and you’re able to alsoconnect it to a Solid Storage or a Transfer Containerto rack up the resource.
