As opposed to the game that came before it,Blasphemous 2features not one but three different weapons to choose from. They each have unique movesets and all come with a special movement ability that you’ll need to make use of to complete the game.

Within minutes of starting a new pilgrimage, you’re prompted to choose which weapon you’d like to start with. While you will eventually get your hands on all three weapons over the course of the game, how easy or difficult the first few hours of the game are may be heavily affected by your starting choices.

While it is certainly possible to get through the opening hours of the game without much fuss using any of these three weapons, there are some specific considerations to take into account.

First, let’s get one thing out of the way -we do not recommend choosing Sarmiento & Centellaas your starting weapon. These rapiers allow you to attack quickly in between enemy attacks, but there are some problems with them.

That leavesVeredicto and Ruego Al Alba. Out of these two, you really can’t go wrong - they both have high damage outputs, which is a very important quality to have at the start of the game when your health is at its lowest, and you want short fights. Both weapons are fantastic choices for dealing with the first few areas and the routes that lead to picking up the spares.

That said, of the two,Ruego Al Alba does have a unique positive over the others. If you don’t pick this sword as your starting weapon, you’ll have to travel quite a long distance to pick it up. The route takes you through two annoying areas (the Choir of Thorns and the Crown of Towers). The other weapons, however, are far quickerand easierto obtain. Picking Ruego Al Alba means you’remaking your early hours far easier on yourself, and you canenjoy the benefits of all three weapons' movesets and movement abilities quickly.
