Marvel’s Spider-Man 2tells a massive and ambitious story, arguably even more ambitious than the critically acclaimed game that came before it back in 2018. With the return of Peter Parker, Mary Jane, and Miles Morales, fans were treated to a darker version of Peter Parker and Spider-Man than they’ve seen in years.

While there are all the usual heroics found within Spider-Man 2, the game does spend a lot of time fleshing out the personal lives of Peter Parker and Miles Morales in between all their web-swinging. Having to contend with a variety of major threats, with Kraven and Venom standing out as the most dangerous, it’s on the Spider-Men to keep the city safe.

UponPeter’s separation from the symbiote, Harry ends up reclaiming it, thustransforming into the horrendous villain Venom.

Shortly after,Venom kills Kraven The Hunterand decides, thanks to Harry’s previous convictions, that he needs to heal the world bymaking everyone in it corrupted by symbiotes.

Spider-Man 2 Mid Credits Scene Norman Osborn

New York is quickly transformed into a land of horrors, withMary Jane even being transformed into the symbiote Scream, though Peter and Miles are able to begin saving the day, starting with saving MJ.

The group of heroes contends with Venom bychanging a symbiote into an anti-venom, allowing Peter to use it to cleanse symbiotes and battle against the overpowered Venom.

Miles kisses Hailey

After claiming the meteorite on which the symbiote came to Earth,Venom plans to accelerate his plans, though the two Spider-Men and Mary Jane step in to put a stop to that.

After a massive city-spanning battle,Mary Jane manages to destroy the meteorite, saving the city, and seeminglyweakening Venom enough for Peter to use the anti-venomto completely destroy the Venom symbiote.

Spider-Man 2, Miles and his family meet Cindy Moon

While it seems like Harry has been killed,Miles steps in with his killer new suittorestart Harry’s heart, though he would end up back in a coma anyway.

Both Peter and MJ visit Harry later and watch as his father Norman rages around the room at the fate that has befallen his son.

It’s at this moment that Norman teases something horrific for a potential Spider-Man 3 when hemakes a call to a mysterious person to have them get the G-Serum ready for use.

Even later, it is revealed that Mary Jane quit her job in order to become New York’s leading podcaster. Peter Parker also makes it clear that his time as a full-time Spider-Man has come to an end.

He does this tofocus his time on his private life with MJ and to put his full effort into the Emily-May Foundation, leaving Miles Morales as New York’s primary spider protector.

The Spider-Man 2 Mid-Credits Scene, Explained

In the mid-credits scene for Spider-Man 2,Norman Osborn decides to pay a visit to Dr. Otto Octaviusin the Raft.

Rather than letting Norman’s motivations be cryptic, it is immediately revealed that he isafter the secret identities of the two Spider-Men in New York, blaming them for Harry’s comatose state.

Those who played the first game will rememberDr. Octavius’ animosity toward Norman Osborn, something that leads to him being glad that Osborn is suffering.

Norman takes note of a journal in the hands of Dr. Octavius and asks what it is, to which he receivesa cryptic reply that he’s been working on the final chapter.

Sadly, that is where the mid-credit scene ends, but it goes a long way insetting up possible antagonistsfor the third Spider-Man game.

With the mention of a G-Serum and Dr. Octavius’ final chapter, it’s looking likely thatboth the Green Goblin and Doc Ockwill be major villainsin the next game, both seeking to destroy the lives of not just the Spider-Men but also Peter Parker and Miles Morales.

The Spider-Man 2 Post-Credits Scene, Explained

As is now customary for Marvel media, Spider-Man 2 also has a post-credits scene.

In the scene,Miles has Hailey over for dinnerand the two soon meet the man that Rio has begun dating, Albert Moon.

If Miles knew what players knew,he’d be fighting surprise instead of bad guys.

While you never get to see her face, this is the moment in whichCindy Moon is introduced to the Spider-Man game universe, something that is far more major than one might believe.

Cindy Moon is far more than meets the eye as, at least in the comics, she is actually another spider hero.

Who Is Cindy In Spider-Man 2?

While we know almost nothing about Cindy Moon in Spider-Man 2, we canmake some inferences based on the character that already exists.

In the comics universe,Cindy Moon is the superhero Silk, another spider hero who wasbitten by the same spider as Peter Parker.

Silk was created back in 2014 by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos, andalmost immediately made a major impact.

Considering she seems to be around Miles’ age,her origin is likely to be a bit different from the one from the comics, something that only adds to fans' cries for Spider-Man 3.

She wasa key figure in the massive Spider-Verse eventthat could be seen as the major kick-off point for all the multiverse madness featured across Marvel.

This means that, while Green Goblin and Doc Ock are positioned to potentially be villains in Spider-Man 3, it’s just as likely that fans may get to seethe Inheritors take the stage in a large and surprising way.

Acting similarly to Spider-Man,Silk possesses many of the same abilities, though her emphasis is more on speed and attack prediction. If she does end up as a spider hero in Spider-Man 3, she’s certain to feel vastly different from Miles both in general movement and fighting style.

Only time will tell what Silk will be like in the Marvel’s Spider-Man games, but it’s probably safe to say that, when she returns in Spider-Man 3 (or some potentially unannounced DLC for Spider-Man 2), she’ll be making a serious impact.
