Rasheed Zain is the ultimate anti-infantry specialist inBattlefield 2042.He is equipped with a powerful airburst grenade launcher that acts identically to the XM25 from Battlefield 4, allowing you to detonate grenades around cover for easy infantry kills. Stop entire groups of infantry from pushing an objective by firing a few well-placed grenades.
More aggressive playstyles can also take advantage of Zain’s heal-on-kill passive, making him a fantastic Assault specialist for infantry-only playlists and smaller Breakthrough maps. This guide will cover Zain’s unique airburst grenade launcher gadget, passive, and offer some tips on how to best use the XM370A grenade launcher.

Zain is anAssaultspecialist equipped with a unique grenade launcher. TheXM370Ais an airburst grenade launcher with thermal optics. Unlike most projectile weapons, this weapon will detonate its projectile after traveling a set distance that Zain marks, allowing you to kill targets behind cover. Doing so will then regenerate your HP through Zain’sPerseverancepassive.
Weapon Proficiency
Assault specialists are proficient with assault rifles. All assault rifles spawn with three additional magazines while playing as Zain.
As Zain is an Assault class, he has access to theMed-Penclass gadget, allowing him to trigger HP regeneration on the fly. Since Perseverance already does this, the Med-Pen is best used for retreating. Assault classes gain access to a wide range of anti-personal secondary gadgets, notablyC5 Explosives, Armor Plates, Claymores, and Grenade Launchers.Throwable options for Zain include most explosive grenade types and Incendiary Grenades.

Gadget And Passive
XM370A
The XM370A is an updated version of the XM25 airburst grenade launcher from Battlefield 4. This weapon fires explosive grenades that can be detonated on impact or upon reaching a certain distance.Aiming the XM370A will display a thermal optic and the option of setting a detonation distance,displayed on the right-hand side of the scope. Your grenades cannot be set to detonate further than 100 meters.
When your grenades reach the set distance, they will automatically explode.Aim at the object you wish to shoot around and press the distance key (“V” on PC and down on the D-pad for controllers) to lock your detonation distance.Fire the grenade slightly above the piece of cover to damage whoever’s behind it.The grenade itself deals great damage to infantry but is ill-suited against armored vehicles.

Zain’s gadget can only hold up tofive grenadesat a time, all of which will recharge after a short delay. These grenades aren’t automatically reloaded, so be sure to reload your XM370A whenever your reserves are replenished.
Perseverance
After Zain kills an enemy, his HP will begin to regenerate immediately. The healing rate is the same as your passive HP regeneration; it doesn’t match the Med-Pen gadget or a Medical Crate.The HP regeneration will end if you take damage or fully recover your HP, whichever happens first.While this makes healing much quicker, it’s still recommended to take cover after a gunfight to let this passive fully heal you.
